Mid-boost Overdrive with Impressive Sonic Range

You know that famous green overdrive pedal that sounds like screaming tubes? The EarthQuaker Devices Palisades overdrive pedal is based on that, but with two gain channels, five bandwidth settings, and six clipping modes for amazing sonic flexibility. The Gain knob interacts with the Voice and Bandwidth knobs to cover a wide range of overdrive tones: transparent and open, tight and crunchy, thin and light, fat and heavy, you name it. There's even a footswitchable volume boost to punch up your solos. If you need multiple flavors of overdrive, but only want one overdrive pedal on your pedalboard, Sweetwater is sure you'll be well served with the EarthQuaker Devices Palisades.

EarthQuaker Devices Palisades Overdrive Pedal at a Glance:
  • Voice control - choose your flavor of overdrive
  • Bandwidth control - fine-tune your overdrive tone
  • Two gain sections bring it all together
Voice control - choose your flavor of overdrive

The Voice control on the Palisades overdrive pedal lets you select from six distinct styles of clipping from transparent and open to tight and crunchy. There's a lot of variation to explore here, especially considering that the Voice control is heavily affected by the Gain controls (and which gain section you're using, for that matter).

Bandwidth control - fine-tune your overdrive tone

The Palisades pedal has the character of a classic mid-boost overdrive, and the Bandwidth control gives you an extra degree of tone shaping. The Bandwidth control affects the frequency response of the distortion - EarthQuaker Devices describes it as ranging "from thin, light and clean through fat, heavy and crunchy." The Bandwidth control is what gives the Palisades pedal such a wide range of overdrive tones.

Two gain sections bring it all together

Two gain channels give the Palisades overdrive even more flexibility. Gain A is your choice for lower-gain tone with grit, perfect for rhythm parts and strummed chords. Gain B offers more gain and a tighter sound, perfect for lead playing and palm muting. The gain settings heavily influence the character of the Voice and Bandwidth parameters, so it's worth spending some time with this pedal to really get an idea of all the different sounds it's capable of producing.

Best Overdrive Pedal I've ever owned

This Pedal is an absolute Beast. I can't imagine a distortion/overdrive sound that you wouldn't be able to achieve with the numerous options this pedal provides. I am completely blown away by it. This was my first EQD pedal and it's pretty much made me a fan for life. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Great overdrive upgrade

This pedal is very fun to use. It is my main overdrive at the moment. I've been using a tech 21 sans amp classic for the last 20 years and this is my new favorite overdrive. I highly recommend the Palisades for anyone that enjoys a good overdrive upgrade.

End of TS Style OD's

I've had this for about 4 months now and haven't thought of any sounds I can't get out of this pedal! I absolutely love it and can't see myself ever needing another TS style overdrive in the future. The one thing I wish I could do is have the option to stack the gain channels and also activate Gain B separately from Gain A. Other than that though, I have absolutely no complaints. I was worried that with so much versatility that it might suffer on sound quality, but this is a wonderful sounding, versatile overdrive!
Music background: Professional Musician

Dial it in.

Dial in almost any sound with any feel you want. Sounds great!

This is a fantastic OVERDRIVE and everything lesser pedal. It does every thing BUT.....distortion. Yes, this is a overdrive but I have seen it advertised as a distortion pedal as well. It is not. With that said everything else is amazing. Blues tones, Rock'n Roll and Speed metal. You can get a Steve Vai sound out of this thing. Just don't expect Pantera.
