The Casio Privia PX-860 sounds realistic and looks fantastic! It features 88 scaled hammer-action keys, so you've got access to the full range of the instrument. The PX-860 keyboard features Casio's finest stereo piano-sampling technology along with a new "Ivory Touch" Tri-Sensor keyboard. When we got our hands on these keys at Sweetwater, we were instantly impressed with the real piano feel. And this keyboard is a great choice for lessons with Casio's Duet Mode, so teacher and student can play the same notes simultaneously on the Privia PX-860.

Casio Privia PX-860 88-key Digital Piano at a Glance:
  • Realistic piano sound with AiR
  • Duet Mode makes this instrument perfect for lessons
  • Stereo speaker system offers big sound
  • USB connection and 2-track recorder open up your possibilities
Realistic piano sound with AiR

To reproduce the sound of the finest acoustic grand pianos, the Privia series features Casio's proprietary AiR (Acoustic and intelligent Resonator) processor. Accessing more than three times the memory of the previous generation, the AiR processor utilizes grand piano samples recorded at four dynamic levels of sampling to deliver grand piano sounds with long natural decays and remarkable expression. To further the grand piano experience, AiR adds realism by simulating the sound of the open strings when the dampers are raised by the pedal.

Duet Mode makes this instrument perfect for lessons

In addition to the excellent keyboard action and piano sound, the Privia PX-860 is the perfect instrument for music education. Featuring Casio's Duet mode, the keyboard can be split into two equal ranges, allowing student and teacher to play at the keyboard simultaneously.

Stereo speaker system offers big sound

To hear your Privia PX-860, you have a few options. To start, the 40-watt quad-speaker system gives you an instant grand piano experience. Of course, you can also use the outputs to connect the PX-860 to another speaker system, such as a PA system for live performances. Finally, there's a headphone output for silent practice at any hour.

USB connection and 2-track recorder open up your possibilities

The Casio Privia PX-860's built-in 2 track recorder and metronome allows you to practice any tempo and later listen back to what you just played. The recording features can also be used to capture moments of creativity and remember song ideas. What's more, it's easy to connect the PX-860 to your computer with its built in USB MIDI interface. The PX-860's 88-note weighted scaled hammer action keyboard makes it an ideal controller keyboard for using with music software applications. The USB connection even allows you to move songs to and from the computer into Privia PX-860's flash ROM, so you can save songs you've created. You can even use the PX-860 as a controller for your iPad music apps via Apple's Camera Connection Kit.

Best Piano for price

I've been playing piano for 22 years now between jazz, rock, worship and classical. This piano beats any other upright piano on the market. You can tweak the piano sound so many different ways to get your perfect preference and the Reverbs are beautiful. Keys are ivory matted and feel great. Small and sleek in size.
Music background: Playing for 22 years

Money well spent

Easy to put together, sounds great, feels great, USB/Midi connection works as advertised.

Worth the money

The piano was bought by our HOA for use for our programs and entertainment. We love it. It has enough power so we can hear it in the hall and we don't feel that we will even have to hook it through our sound system. We were going to have to have our current old piano fixed at a cost of $500+ with an annual tuning of at least $150, so we feel it was well worth the money for the PX-860.
