The Taylor PS14ce is a member of that rarefied breed, Taylor's Presentation Series. And when it's time to take the stage, Taylor's acclaimed Expression System 2 electronics have your back, faithfully amplifying the PS14ce's perfectly balanced tone. If it's time to step up to a supreme expression of the luthier's art, you're ready for the Taylor PS14ce.

Taylor PS14ce Acoustic-electric Guitar at a Glance:

  • Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage
  • Exceptional Taylor quality and playability
Grand Auditorium body style, for exceptional resonance and clarity

Taylor's beloved Grand Auditorium body style employs the width and depth of the Dreadnought. However, its waist is narrower, which gives Grand-Auditorium-bodied acoustic guitars a sleeker look, with more treble zing. The Taylor PS14ce's Grand Auditorium body style gives you a huge, focused sound, with each note you play clearly delineated.

Taylor Expression System 2 electronics deliver superior sound onstage

If you play plugged in, then you're going to love the Taylor Expression System 2 (ES2) electronics built into your PS14ce acoustic guitar. The key to this fantastic system is the 3-section proprietary pickup located behind the saddle. Because of where it's positioned and how it's integrated into the PS14ce's saddle, the ES2 pickup provides you with remarkably clear and accurate sound. In addition to a master volume control, a pair of tone controls let you tweak your highs and lows to get the sound you need, and a discreet phase switch offers vital onboard feedback suppression.

Exceptional Taylor quality and playability

There's nothing like a Taylor. Once you get your hands on the PS14ce acoustic-electric guitar, you'll never want to play anything else! But, what is it that makes a Taylor acoustic so good? For starters, each Taylor is made out of premium tonewoods, for great sound that only gets better with age. You'll also love the easy playing neck. Even if you're primarily an electric player, you'll feel totally comfortable getting around on this neck. Another Taylor hallmark is their commitment to consistent quality and attention to detail - no flawed "built on a Friday afternoon" guitars here! From the innovative neck joint to the durable, top-notch finish, your Taylor is built to play and sound absolutely great, right from the moment you pick it up. Don't settle for less; treat yourself to a Taylor!

Taylor ps14ce

Excellent playing guitar! Also a very comfortable guitar to play. The ebony arm rest is amazing. The craftsmanship is by far the best I've ever seen on a guitar. The Macassar ebony wood brings and amazingly deep tone. I could be any happier with everything about this guitar!

The PS14ce is a dream come true

I am in the enviable position of having first purchased a Taylor 914ce about one year ago, which I can possibly contrast and compare to my newly acquired PS14ce. There is no controversy regarding the quality of workmanship, wood, inlay, and overall appearance of the PS14: it is stunningly beautiful. As guitarists know, however, the characteristics most important are related to the individual's auditory preferences, which are highly unique and specific for each of us; comfort and "feel", related to the ease of playing and the 'action', are important factors as well. Without amplification, this instrument (PS14) is very satisfying, in its resonance and clarity; there is a depth of sound that is unmatched, in my experience (playing guitar since 1955). To my ears, the PS14ce sounds fuller when amplified with a mic, compared to its amplification directly into my acoustic amp; however, an external microphone produces volume issues due to feedback, while direct amplifier quality can be better adjusted artificially using the equalization parameters, etc.. Again, the natural tone of this guitar, to my ears, sounds best, in contrast to amplification. There is an internal toggle switch that offers alternate pickups within the body of the guitar, and I tend to prefer the fuller sound, all pick-ups on. String quality is extremely important, and, again, one's subjective, personal preferences are paramount. Having compared different acoustic guitar string brands, my preference is for Taylor's recommendations; there are tonal differences between the bronze nanoweb and the phosphor polyweb, but both are excellent. As for comparison to my 914ce, this plays and sounds as beautiful, to me, in comparison to the PS14, but with a slightly less (or perhaps just different) resonance and depth, something, again, that varies with string quality. In summary, the PS14ce is an exquisite instrument that, to me, surpasses all other acoustic guitars, in both its beauty and its tone.
