Another Tone-packed Amplifier from PRS

PRS has created a flexible amp with unique character in the HXDA Custom 30-watt guitar amp head. The HXDA Custom is based on the esteemed PRS 25th Anniversary amp, a British-inspired amp that boasts a lot of tonal flexibility. PRS took the HXDA Custom to the next level by adding three switches to control the amp's brightness and gain, giving you even more power to shape your sonic signature. You even have control over bass gain in addition to the master gain - tweak them both to discover tones that go from bright and sparkly to crunchy and raw and beyond! The PRS HXDA Custom 30-watt guitar amp head gives you access to the sound and feel of a prized amp from the '70s with the reliability of a modern amp.

Plexi God !

For years I've dreamed of attaining the tones from some of my favorite bands of the 60's and 70's. I'm no fool, I know there is more involved to get that "tone". The player, the speakers, the mic, etc. the list goes on.Nevertheless, I looked into the HXDA and read up on exactly what PRS did. Simply put, it's everything I've ever wanted in the "sound" but without the drawbacks that old Marshall amps carry, such as the horrendous loud volume you have to deal with. The HXDA solves this. It literally sounds GREAT at any volume. Late night? yes. Turn it up and feel like you just jumped into Doc Browns car and punched the flux capacitor. It surpassed my expectations. A strat sounds like a strat, a les paul sounds like a les paul. Switch pickups and you can REALLY hear the difference in pickups. With just changing the gain knobs and pickups I can go from Hendrix hey joe to voodoo chile to SRV, plug in my paul and go from ACDC to Zep. Using the guitar to clean up and vary your picking to achieve clean flavors. The most dynamic amp Ive ever played. Also this first amp I've played that doesn't hurt when you turn it up, i've turned it up 75% and could still be in the same room with it. Yes it's loud but it's still musical. The highs simply don't hurt your ears. I still can't believe it.I'm sorry I spent so many years trying to use an OK priced amp with boutique pedals. Yeah it was an ok tone. But now that I've played this, it simply doesn't compare.Listen to derrick trucks, he uses the same amp.
