And when you need meaty distortion with soaring leads and heavy chugging, the 25-watt Archon's lead channel has you covered.

PRS Archon 25-watt Tube Combo Amplifier at a Glance:
  • Aggressive modern tone with a classic playing response
  • Two channels of sonic mayhem
  • Professional features and high-class tone
Aggressive modern tone with a classic playing response

Following in the success of the 100-watt and 50-watt Archon models that came before it, this 25-watt Archon combo amp is designed to give you the same modern tone but with the playing feel of a lower-powered amp. You'll both hear and feel the Archon breathe and loosen up a bit when you really dig into your guitar. And when you switch to 13-watt mode, you can get those same cranked-amp tones at lower volumes. Basically, this is the Archon you want if you're after high-gain tone with the responsive feel and reined-in volume of a lower-wattage amplifier.

Two channels of sonic mayhem

The amp gurus at PRS decided it was time for an amp that excels at the heavier side of music. From drop-tuned chugging to over-the-top shred solos, the 25-watt Archon delivers the heavy sounds you need with extreme clarity. Every note of every chord is clear and defined, no matter how heavy your distortion. The clean channel goes from warm jazz tones to pristine clean. Guitarists at Sweetwater agree that amps rarely encompass both sides of the spectrum this well. And if you cut the power down to 13 watts, you get the same killer tone at volumes more appropriate for smaller venues or recording.

Professional features and high-class tone

It rocks on its own, but the PRS Archon 25-watt combo amplifier is easy to integrate into virtually any guitar rig, too. You've got two switchable 4/8/16-ohm speaker output, so you can easily connect whatever type of speaker cabinet you prefer. And just like every PRS amp, the Archon has easy-access bias points on the back panel for easier tube maintenance.

PRS Archon 25-watt Tube Combo Amplifier Features:
  • Modern 2-channel amplifier with features designed for the professional gigging guitarist
  • All-tube design with incredibly wide tonal range, from amazing cleans to roaring distortion
  • Master volume for each channel really lets you fine-tune your tonal combinations
  • Amazingly responsive and dynamic, with no loss of high frequencies when you turn down your guitar's volume
  • Switchable 25-watt/13-watt operation lets you achieve cranked-amp tone at lower volume levels
  • Vibrant, punchy tone from a 12" Celestion G12-75T speaker
  • 12AX7 preamp tubes and 5881 power tubes

Little monster!!!!!!

When can you say that 25W is way more than you needed? When you get this amp! Just to make sure, I am no expert as my main instrument is the drums, but I have always enjoyed playing guitar and songwriting. This is without a doubt a high gain AMP, meaning is not for everyone or will not necessarily satisfy all your needs or styles as it is definitely more on the modern to heavy metal side of the sound equation. For me it was perfect because it was exactly what I was looking in terms of sound and projection and by far exceeded the volume that I needed. Incredible clean channel and the lead is a dream for the modern rockers. I am yet to put a pedal in front of it to make it sing into further dimensions. No integrated Reverb definitely will make you go for that effect pedal at least, but even its simplicity in terms of sound makes it even more focused on its raw power and sound quality which is something that I did admire on this amp when I heard what it could deliver and how the instruments were sounding. One piece of advice... try pinch harmonics in on this thing...Amazing!!!Sweetwater service... Simply the best!!!!!!!!! Thanks Mark!!!

A Must Have

Don't be fooled! This amp is much more than just another high gain amp. The clean channel is just as impressive as the gain channel. This is one versatile amp, a definite keeper! Don't let the size deter you! The Archon screams!!

Great Amp

I purchased this amp almost a year ago from Sweetwater. Let me start by saying that Sweetwaters customer service is second to none. Any time I have ever had an issue or a question, they go out of their way to help. Unfortunately, this is my second Archon 25. The first one that I received was incredibly noisy on the dirty channel, much more than it should have been. After talking with PRS directly, it was diagnosed as a tube issue. Sweetwater sent out a new one, no questions asked. After I received the new one, all seemed to be well. The clean channel is incredible for a high gain amp. It even takes pedals really well. The dirty channel is what these amps are known for and this little amp doesn't disappoint. You can go from an 80's rock tone all the way to modern metal and more. My only drawback at this point is that the amp still has a little bit more noise on the dirty channel than I would like. When compared to Mesa, Marshall or Orange, you would think that there is something wrong with the amp, but the noise is normal, according to PRS. Nothing a noise suppressor can't fix. Overall it's a great amp. PRS is a company not generally known for their high gain amps, but this guy changes all of that. Somehow they have managed to make a high gain amp that has a tone all it's own.

Nice Amp

Having several amps i am still always willing to try a new one. I bought this one because i like PRS products and love my Private Stock guitar. Overall i like this amp but if i could change something it would be to have an upgrade on materials like on their other amps. It does'nt look like your typical upscale PRS product, but it is a keeper!
