    Love Smaart!

We (the band) have one in our live rig and I have one for my studio. Perfect match obviously to the StudioLive. This is like the missing link in any environment. You can play as a pro, spend mega-bucks on gear and if the room your in distorts your sound, well, you sound bad. HUGE difference having a our sound tuned to the room. The mic does a nice job and it is built to travel.

One thing I don't get. The mic clip sure is not for this mic. Too big for the nozzle and too small for the body. Hard plastic. I've got plenty of clips to borrow for a few minutes to do the calibration so no problem. Given the quality of everything else Prosonus packs in to their products, it just seems like a really dumb oversight.

Great Product. My sound changed the first night I used it with my studiolive 24.4.4. I highly recommends this mic to anyone using the Presonus studiolive console!

    PreSonus PRM1 : Recommended.Great.

Anyone with a Presonus board should not hesitate to buy this PreSonus PRM1
Mic , designed by Presonus to work with the "SMAART" program in "Universal Control"

You can EQ rooms/Clubs/ Venues and save them, you can use as RTA and kill feedback frequencies, LIVE,

Other mics might work, but for $ just get the one that it designed for the mixer and programs.

    PreSonus PRM1 Review

Just wanted to say that I replaced my previous mic, which was supposed to be the same, with the Presonus PRM1 and it works better with my Studio Live VSL/SMART application.
Should have spent the extra $40 in the first place :-)!

    Good Reference Mic

I bought this mic to help calibrate my home studio, as well as the main auditorium for my church. Both rooms are utilizing a Presonus StudioLive 16.4.2 alongside with the Universal Control software. I went with the PRM-1 for the obvious reason that both products are made by Presonus, so I figure they're calibrated to work in harmony with one another.

Build quality is outstanding! Very solid, metal casing, snug XLR connection. The mic clip is plastic and is a little difficult to get the mic in and out of. Even though the clip is plastic, it's a very sturdy plastic and I'm not worried about breaking it.

The carrying case is a bonus. It's about what you'd expect a low end MXL mic to come in. Nothing fancy. Not crazy durable, but better than nothing I suppose.

I'm certainly no expert when it comes to frequency analysis, but I found it odd that both rooms I've measured using this mic have had eerily similar frequency curves even though one is 4x the size of the other. One is acoustically treated and the other is not. One has multiple angled walls and the other is a square drywall box. It may just be happenstance, it may be the mic, it may be the software. Either way, I won't know more until I've had a chance to use it in a few other environments.
