    Beautiful Sound

I have been a Pro musician for many years and have always used Peavey Equipment. These PR 15 D units are right in line with the higher priced top names. I learned a long time ago that the name does not give any performance, but the quality is in the components and design.... GO PEAVEY....
Also thanks and Kudo's to the Sweetwater team for excellent service.

    Great speakers

I was really surprise with the sound quality and power of those speakers. As a pro musician, those speakers handle the gigs very well. The clarity is awesome.

    Good but needs help

The PR-15 handles a good amount of power and a pair should be loud enough for sound reinforcement in small to mid-size rooms. It's light-weight and easy to lift and carry. However, in spite of the 15 inch driver it is rather severely deficient in the extreme low end. Response rolls off rapidly below about 70 Hz. So you will absolutely need a subwoofer in addition for any applications requiring full range reproduction.

    They haven't grown on me

Firstly I should make clear that I have the passive PR-15 NEO using a Tapco to drive them with 500 W rms @ 8 ohms. It's been over five years and I haven't got used to them. Besides what I mentioned initially, the coloration is so pronounced that in all this time I still haven't been able to get them to sound right. I think it might be impossible. Finally I bit the bullet and invested in a pair of JBL JRX 215 (a little bright but easily managed). If I had done that in the first place I would have had better sound all along and spent less in the end. I was a fool but you don't have to be.

    Very disappointed

As it was written before, OK at best for sound reinforcement in a small room, but NEVER stand alone. Not very powerful, not very durable, not great speakers. Very disappointed. If you want cheap, that's peavey. But you pay for what you get

Also, they have not held up very well. They may have a metal screen and made out of composite, but overall construction is poor and are not meant to be moved around alot
