The Mighty Oak

Been awhile since I tried oaks due to the extra weight density. Experience pays off in the long run though and I thought I'd give 'em a try again, if only for their durability. Very happy with these Shira Kashi Oak 747. I got (4) pair of them with the Promark forward cut, again for durability up front, and also a nylon tip. Been playing the same two pair for a couple of weeks now, no problem swinging 'em and no splintering up front and tips are doing great. Spent a little more up frt but looking to stop making kindling. Good sticks!!
Music background: Smashin' and bashin' 'till the cows come home!

The Perfect drumsticks!

Been using this drumstick for 15+ years! The oak outlasts anything else out there with no splintering or mess. Nice Nylon tip for crisp cymbal work and great sound on the cross stick/ Rimshot.

Love these sticks

I play in a country band and I get a very satisfying rim click with these sticks. They are a little loud sometimes for the small venues we play, but the pluses are that the nylon tips play well on the cymbal bells (better than wood IMHO) and the shape doesn't pit my drum heads, even when played hard. Also, they don't seem to splinter and cut up your hands and make a mess as much as other sticks I've used.

While it's true you lose some tips once in a while, the kashi oak seems to hold up pretty well night after night. I can typically play multiple gigs on a single pair before they give up the ghost.
Music background: Rock, pop, country, jazz. Live and studio.

Like the oak.

Only problem I have is one of the tips came off during my first set. That said, I always wanted to try oak sticks because of splintering of hickory. So far I am really loving these sticks. The other pair is really holding up and are just the right size and weight for my style.

Drum stick

I've been using these sticks for several years. The sticks feel great and are very strong but I had several that the nylon tips flew off. Obviously you're not going to find the tips so you can glue them back on, so those sticks were useless to me.
