Awesome "Ampeg"!

For many years I owned an Ampeg B2 Head and loved it's dependability and tone. It went to many, many, shows with me and I easily got the tone I loved with it. Sadly, it developed some issues a few years ago and I started using my QSC amps on stage along with my pedalboard with A SansAmp Bass DI as my preamp. I was able to get the volume I needed on stage but never that "Ampeg" sound I was so in love with. I decided to try out this little head hoping to get the tone I wanted, again. WOW! It's all back. With just three tone knobs I can get exactly what I need and the effects loop works very well with my board. For practice, it's nice to be able to plug in my computer or MP3 player and play along with songs. What's also cool is that the volume knob on the head only controls the volume of my bass so I can have two separate levels from my music and bass. As far as output, this thing is more than adequate for practice or onstage. It's dynamic and punchy and a blast to play through. The only thing to be aware of is that the preamp gain doesn't get "gritty" like an SVT can, but that's what my pedals are for.

Surprised !!!

I really did not know what to expect from a small 350 watt head but was I surprised. I matched it up with the pf115 cabinet and I was blown away with the deep and punchy sound. Has that great vintage Ampeg tone. Using it with a classic country legends band and it fits right in on stage and for practice. Thinking of adding the pf 210 cabinet later to get the full 350 watts out. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a small package with a ton of sound. Thanks Sweetwater for all the help and support. Your customer service is number one!

I'm a long time professional working in a top touring band and thank Sweetwater for their over the top support in keeping my band rolling. My tech is Ian who works harder than some of our in house techs and roadies. And yes, the portables is a great bass power source from rehearsal room to the stageRegards,Les

Gets the job done...and More!

I was looking for something for small gigs and rehearsals and this head paired with 2 Svt210av speakers fits the bill. Outstanding tone and cuts right through the mix. Great value and only 60 lbs.
