nice pedal

Havent seen may reviews of these pedal so i thought i would give my two cents.First off, this pedal has ALOT of power. Nice solid base plate. A little on the heavier side but consistent. Feel alot different than chain drives as this pedal moves in one complete motion so the rebound takes a little getting used to. very easy to cruise on these pedals. terms of build, its decent aside from the aluminum base plate. bought these for the extended boards. love em. tightening the springs and right beater placement; im pretty sure you can go fast with these. clamp is offset so its aligned with my bass drum which is a plus. only time will tell the durablity but for now they are great. one thing though is the pedals seems to tilt a little when you tighten it to the bass hoop but it is under carpet so not to sure. overall , pedals i can grow on.

Direct Drive pedal - Bang for the buck

A little back story on why I bought this pedal. I will start by saying that i have an Axis short board double direct and an older Eliminator Double Chain and loved them. I wanted to give my son the Axis so I needed another Direct Link pedal. I had the Demon Drive on order but changed my mind because of the heavy price tag and looked into this pedal. For the price, I was skeptical and also not too many reviews on it. First impressions: FORM - This pedal looks really cool. Simple and streamlined. I like the blue drive link. On the other hand, it looks kind of weak and fragile. FUNCTION- Being a DD and a longboard, it feels much different than chains and regular length footoards. Upon first playing doubles, it felt really good and really fast. It also felt good playing triplets on the single pedal. Hieever this is where I noticed something shady. It felt "squishy" and found out that the cam where the slave pedal connects was bending when I would bury the beater. I almost dismissed this as "you get what you pay for" and was going to return it. I then thought, maybe the cam is loose and grabbed some allen wrenches and tightened every set screw on the pedal. Go figure! The ones near the cam were loose!! Once tightened, there was no more squishes and no more bending in the shaft. TaDa!! It was now pretty solid. Beaters are great dual sided and light. There isnt a fraction of the adjustability on this pedal compared to the $600 and up pedals, but also a fraction of the price. TLDR; Once the set screws were tightened, this was a fantastic pedal for the money. Want to try longboards and direct drive for 2 bills?! This is the pedal for you!

PDP Concept Double Pedal

Pro's: Fast action, great balance on the master pedal. The longboard is great for finding the "sweet spot" of balance. Con's: The slave (left) pedal setup is weird - the arm that holds the link to the footboard sits higher on the hex axle, and there is no way of adjusting it to match the angle of the arm on the master pedal. The result is a lack of equal balance between the two pedals, and makes the left pedal feel sloppy and sluggish, compared to the right one. Overall, it's a great idea, but I'm returning them and ordering a set of chain drive Concepts. I've had a set of those before and they were much more balanced. No matter what the problem might be with this particular pedal, Sweetwater's customer service is over the top, and I'll still be a happy customer.

my review

Had them for about six weeks and the connection point between the footboard and the drive broke. but not a lot of adjustments which is why I went with these in the first place, very simple no nonsense kind of pedal, but could have been built better. Or I just got a bad one. who knows.
