Rock a Value-packed '70s P Bass

The Squier Classic Vibe Precision Bass '70s gives you a powerful '70s-style instrument that nails the instrument's look and feel from that musically fertile era. The cool, all-black look includes the pickguard, the finger rest and, in a stylish touch, the block inlays on the maple fingerboard. A Fender-designed split-coil pickup serves up classic, muscular Precision Bass tone, while a HiMass bridge with brass barrel saddles gives you rock-solid intonation. With all its vintage goodness and modern touches, the Squier Classic Vibe P Bass '70s is one of the hottest bass values at Sweetwater. We're sure you'll agree.

Squier Classic Vibe P Bass '70s at a Glance:
  • Lightweight basswood body and no-nonsense visuals
  • Fender-designed split-coil pickup delivers classic P Bass punch
  • Modern C-shape maple neck for speed and comfort
Lightweight basswood body and no-nonsense visuals

Bass guitars are big and that can mean heavy, too. So the Squier Classic Vibe P Bass '70s comes with a basswood body, which is quite resonant but relatively light, which you'll really appreciate after two or three hours onstage. When you take the stage with this axe, you'll appreciate the cool factor of this instrument's no-nonsense black-on-black visuals.

Fender-designed split-coil pickup delivers classic P Bass punch

Why on earth would you change something as perfect as the split single-coil P Bass pickup? You wouldn't, of course. So Squier stuck with a winner that delivers classic P Bass punch and quiet operation, both onstage and in the studio. A master volume and master tone control lets you shape your bass tone to perfection.

Modern C-shape maple neck for speed and comfort

Leo Fender wasn't a guitar player, so he didn't really know that guitars weren't "supposed" to have maple necks. Eventually, the blond maple neck and fingerboard became a Fender trademark. The Classic Vibe P Bass '70s has a nicely balanced maple neck with a modern "C" shape that makes it really easy to get around on.

Squier Classic Vibe P Bass '70s Features:
  • Basswood body; gloss Polyester finish
  • Maple, modern C-shape neck with gloss Polyester finish
  • Maple fingerboard, 9.5" radius with 20 vintage-Style frets and black block inlays
  • 34" scale; synthetic bone nut, 1.650"
  • Fender-designed single split-coil Precision Bass pickup
  • Volume and Tone controls
  • Chrome hardware
  • 4-saddle HiMass bridge with brass barrel saddles
  • 3-ply black pickguard

Squier Classic Vibe P Bass -70's

Great out of the box playability. Action set good. Guitar in awesome shape as it should. Beautiful neck and period correct appointments. Overall, great bass and great service from my Sales Enginner, Andrew Plasman.

An Amazing Bass

So much bass for the price! Just got one love it! I would absolutely recommend this bass!

Classic Vibe P-Bass

I was shocked when I plugged this bass in, it has lots of growl and tone. I did change the strings out after the strings were petering out to a set of D,addario NY XL ' s. Well worth it , but the Bass is out standing better then a entry level Fender P-Bass my opinion. Fret work is really like a American standard Bass , the Fret work is better than my Deluxe Jazz and my Pawn shop reverse Jaguar basses. WOW JUST WOW!!!! I am a working Bass player.

The Real Deal

Squier,Nailed it, with this one..Outstanding Quality..This bass can hang, with other bass guitars, costing two to three Times more..Would also like to thank, Sweetwater Staff member Tad Shaffer..for all his help..Thanks again

I can't believe this is a $ bass

I normally play much more expensive basses that I build / configure myself. I bought this bass because I liked the look, and I wanted an inexpensive "parlor" bass to leave lying around the house, just to noodle on. When I unboxed this thing, I was blown away. The pickups, the fretwork, the overall fit and finish, the killer high-mass bridge with brass saddles, the hardware, the feather-light 7-lb. weight ...I'll probably throw new strings on it, but that's IT. It needs nothing else.I like USA-made gear as much as the next cat, but Squier has got their Chinese production DIALED IN. I am astounded by the tone and playability of this instrument.
