Great bass

When Sweetwater sent the Squire affinity bass it played as well as a much more expensive bass. It sounds awesome, plays well, has good pickups, the neck is comfortable, and it looks good. Really this is a great deal for an instrument and I'd highly suggest it not just as a good bang for the buck instrument but a good instrument in general.

Awesome Bass

I really like Squier's, and this bass is no exception. This bass is awesome as well as an amazing quality instrument with allot of value for the price, and right out of the box the fret work was great and the setup was pretty much perfect. Granted the strings were unwound and a little loose due to shipping, but after I tuned it up which didn't take long it was awesome, and holds a tuning. The stock pick ups sound good in my opinion, and all of the hardware is good as well. I had the opportunity to play a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass, and aside from different wood along with a little better finish I didn't see a real point that made it that much better to justify the price at least at this point in time. Even the pick ups didn't sound that much different in my opinion, and the Squier is still just as much of a beautiful guitar with respect when seen in person. This bass really does have allot of value for the price, and whether your a beginner or experienced player I don't think you will be disappointed at all. I have a Sterling Sub Ray4 and a Ibanez SR305E, but I always keep coming back to my Squier. The neck just feel's great, and it's a fast playing good bass with an awesome sound right out of the box. I bought this one to replace an older Squier I had, and I'm glad I did. I think too often we get caught up with brand names with respect, and can overlook gem's like this guitar. This bass will last a long time, and provided endless enjoyment. Also, this was my first time ordering from Sweetwater, and I'm glad I found them. I've shopped allot online, but I've never received a call before especially from someone as nice knowledgeable and helpful as Sweetwater's sales engineers, and within twenty minute's after placing my order I got a call from a sales engineer who in general just wanted to make sure I was a satisfied customer and they got it shipped out the same. I look forward to future purchases with Sweetwater. Thank you for doing what you do, and caring about your customers. Thank you for reading as well. I hope this review helped. ^^

LOVE this Bass

I knew when I first tried it that this good-looking bass was perfect for me as a beginner but would grow with me; I still love it 18 months later! I had to readjust strings for intonation but it dialed in great. The BIG improvement was with the addition of easy-to-install EMG Geezer Butler pickups (on sale at about $120), which included new pots to replace all of the guts of what came with this bass. Transformed the sound! So with a little adjustment, new Ernie Ball strings, and the EMG pickups, this bass sounds as good or better than big name basses costing multiples of its price. Total investment was maybe $320 or so. This one is a keeper!

Great Bass

Got one cheap from a pawn shop. Great action. good tone. I'm stunned that its a Squier - I've never been a fan but this bass kicks for the $. If you're financially challenged like me then buy one of these. You won't be disappointed. You can upgrade pick-ups later if you're a tone freak. Wow Fender!

Love this bass!

I love this bass! I have two Fender P Bass Deluxes from 2002 and wanted a Fender Bass with the same pickup configuration. I was going to buy another P bass Deluxe but apparently it's been discontinued? I bought this bass instead. Love the neck. Needs a setup a little fret buzz in the first three frets. I adjusted the intonation and put strap locks on. Pickups are a little lower output than my other Fenders but I'm going to swap them out. I am going to install a Leo Quann bridge because I don't like the stock one. Tuners seem ok for now. All in all its ok out of the box but with a few minor upgrades this bass will be tour worthy. Love the finish too
