Really Good

I've used mine a number of times now and it has completely changed my perspective on playing. Performance is better because I can hear my voice and I am more accurate in hitting my notes. Stage monitors are gone and I am considering buying an Ampeg preamp (I play bass) and leaving my cab at home! An uncluttered stage! It has made a difference to my other singers. They feel like they no longer have to strain their voices to hear themselves. This model allows you to set your own balance so that you can blend the mix you want to hear between the left and right channels. It is solidly built and with Sweetwater's 2 year warranty, I have another year over the standard warranty. I won't go back to wedges again. The cons are that it will eat batteries. Shure rechargeables are $99. There are cheaper alternatives.

A Game Changer

My band decided to buy the PSM300 transmitter and I bought the P3RA from Sweetwater for me along with a set of Shure SE 315 earbuds because I play bass and wanted to emphasize the low-end.At first, I was worried because I could not get a good seal with standard sleeves that Shure provided. Luckily, Sweetwater threw in some additional ear sleeves and I tried the triple flanged sleeve and what a difference! The seal in your ear canal is VERY important. A bad seal produces distortion and low volume. A good seal gave me clear, undistorted bass and allowed me to hear everything I wanted to hear at a volume level that did not cause me any discomfort. The MixMode in the P3-RA is a really nice feature. It allows me to set the blend between channels to my liking so if I have voices in one and instruments in the other, I can emphasize one or the other. The Level Limiter prevents any abnormal bursts of sound from damaging my ears. Good features to have. These are why you are seeing bands dumping their stage monitors. Those feedback producers that you can't hear anyways are now becoming obsolete. Some musicians are dumping their stage amps as well. There's a revolution in on-stage sound as people adopt IEMs and experiment. Sweetwater helped get me the right equipment and I did a lot of research on TalkBass Forum and conversed with other bassists who had them.
