Takamine - over 50 years of quality, great sound, and playability

The Takamine Pro Series P3DC acoustic-electric guitar is the result of over a half-century of Takamine guitar-crafting knowhow. Launched in 1962 at the foot of Japan's Takamine mountains, Takamine has been designing and building acoustic guitars that are seen in the hands of some of music's biggest stars. With quality and value as guiding principles, Takamine's instruments employ the finest tonewoods, construction techniques, and technical innovations such as the proprietary CT4B preamp system found in this guitar.

Takamine's CT4B preamp system gives you natural amplified tone

The Pro Series P3DC sports Takamine's CT4B preamp, giving you rich, clear-sounding amplified output - instantly. A feature of Pro Series guitars, the CT4B features three-band EQ, a volume control and a built-in tuner. The preamp is switched on by plugging a standard instrument cable into the endpin/strap pin jack. Unplugging the cable turns the preamp off. The CT4B is powered by a single 9 volt battery.

  • Dreadnought cutaway; scalloped X-braced solid cedar top, solid sapele back, sapele laminate sides
  • African Mahogany Neck with bound rosewood fingerboard, 20 nickel-silver frets, wood dot-in-dot inlays

THE. BEST

I have been playing about 25 yrs and recently have gone through about 6 acoustics just looking for the right sound and NO BUZZING. this guitar is it, unbelievable tone and playability. I even lowered the strings and still no buzz. The tone of this guitar is incredible. This will be my number 1 gigging guitar.

Best guitar I've ever played!

Played this guitar at the Gear Fest for the first time. I played a bunch of other guitars first, but nothing really stood out or felt good playing. I seen the Takamine booth, I had my eye on two guitars next to each other they both looked almost the same but one was $1,100 and the other was $400. and change. I grabbed the cheaper one first and like all the other I played that day it was just so-so nothing special. Then I grabbed the other one, I think it was a P1DC and WOW! I could really tell the difference. I didn't buy it that day, but I couldn't get my mind off of how well and easy it played and sounded. I couldn't take it anymore so I went back and picked up the P3DC and added it to my stable. I couldn't be happier.

INCREDIBLE!!!

I tried out many guitars at Sweetwater before deciding upon this one. i was willing to buy any brand at most any price. This guitar is utterly amazing! I have basal joint arthritis in my left thumb which makes forming chords painful at times. This guitar is effortless to play! The sound is so full and rich while still having the brights! I actually had two people compare this guitar to one double the price and both agreed this one sounded better and played easier. The action is great! Even the case is awesome! I can't say enough about the guitar AND the service I received at Sweetwater! They went above and beyond! Takamine can boast about this guitar! Thank you Sweetwater!
