    Furman P-1800 PF R

This is the best power conditioner for a bass amplifier. It can clean up any power amp you play with no joke. It's a must for any bass player!

The best investment I've ever made!

The power conditioner removes dirty mids and noisy highs. The background is significantly darker. I'll definitely buy the balanced p-2400 once I have the budget.

I have tried a number of power conditioners and filters with mixed success. The Furman P-1800 PF R, is the best thing that I have found for less than a grand, particularly if you are running a higher wattage guitar or bass amplifier. Recently purchased a 300 watt tube amp and wanted the noise floor to be as low as possible. I started with a Monster 3500, and was greatly disappointed (review pending) that unit was returned. I then bought the Furman and was pleasantly surprised. The filtering is great, we tested it by turning on and off, a humidifier, a hair dryer, dishwasher, coffee been grinder, and some other appliances. The Furman did great, no detectable noise coming through the guitar cab. This unit lowered the noise of my effects loop chain, and the amp, and for that reason alone I would recommend this unit. If you do buy one don't plan on more than 12 AMPS constant draw. It says 15 amps in the description, but in the manual it give a specific statement as a 12 amp ceiling. Having said that, it does have this power factor function that works as advertised and will handle peaks way above 12 amps for short periods of time. The reason it did not get 5 stars is that the claimed wall wart spacing is a little narrow, it will work with some, but not all.

    The importance of power conditioning

Furman's P-1800PFR has allowed me to record with an Orange, a Marshall, a.THD and an old Ampeg V2 (1969) simultaneously with 80% less amp noise than without.Much easier to utilize dynamics when dropping the volume in a song, when the amps asre all in sync electronically. I recommend the Furman line, and ther Monster equipment as well.
