A great view
I first looked at this product for the metering. It is very detailed and easy to use. I tried in demo mode first then called Dennis k (my sales guy)
He gave me tips on how to use the program. Sort of like a living quick start guide and manual. I was struggling a bit with some of the choices of software to complete my mastering chain. He suggested that I try advanced ozone5 suite. I was impressed with the ease of use and sound I was able to get The tweak ability of the suite is out of this world. Some type of alien technology. The presets get u in the ball park and in fact educate u on how each component works and effects each other. I bought it and love it. Again Dennis was right on course with what I was looking for. He knows my system setup and compatibility ( Sweetwater sales keeps records of ur gear u purchase). This software should cost more for what all it does. Ps. Check out rx3. And fix single coil buzz or b3 power hiss
Easy To Use
Very easy to use and get quick, great sounding results.
Lot's of literature is available from iZotope to provide users with a mastering crash course.
Even if you are going somewhere else to master your material, it is worth owning this software to get a reference of what your mix can sound like after mastering.
Amazing
I've been using waves L3 etc. for a while and was looking to try out something new. This thing is amazing. The CD master setting sounds great. Adds a certain color to your tracks that makes them sound bolder. Not really sure how else to explain it. Definitely worth the purchase though.
Ozone 5 Advanced...in a word, AWESOME
The title of this review says it all. Awesome! Ozone 5 Advanced does not disappoint in any way. I'm using it as VST plugins with SONAR X1 Expanded and have been delighted with the results. The meter bridge is way fun although it cannot be used 'stand alone' like all the other modules. Hopefully iZotope will remedy that in a future upgrade.
Because all of the other modules can be used individually, Maximizer, Equalizer, Dynamics processor, Stereo imaging, Exciter and Reverb, this is not only a great mastering tool but also very useful for mixing. The sound is great. Each individual module can be used as a VST and is pretty straight forward to use; but also has lots of 'tweakability'. In other words, they're useful right away but there is some learning curve involved to get the most out of each.
Although I've got a lot of really great plugins for various mixing and mastering tasks, it's really nice to have an integrated set that pretty much does it all. This will most likely be my "go to" kit for many projects.
Ozone 5 Advanced is a wonderful product. I find nothing not to like about it. For my purposes, the money was well spent.
A great upgrade
Great step up from v.4. New loudness metering was the selling point for me. The stand-alone plugins with the advanced version are worth it - if you only need an eq (and it's a great eq) you can use just the eq module, instead of applying the whole bundle. Haven't played around extensively yet, but it's taken everything that was great in v.4 and made it just a little better, and added some really, really cool new stuff. I think it uses a little more system resources than v.4 though, which is why it gets 4.5 and not 5.
