One of the Best Friends a Musician Can Have!

After Matthais Hohner founded his harmonica company over 150 years ago, his products quickly rose above the competition because of his dedication to producing only high-quality instruments. Generations later, that same fundamental principle remains. Even an entry-level harmonica, such as the Old Standby, is built to a higher standard than most standard acoustic instruments of any price. Tuned to a highly musical diatonic C scale, the Old Standby is the perfect companion to anyone new to the harp or just looking for a fun way to pass time. With an Old Standby in your pocket, you'll never be without a great musical instrument again.

Hohner Old Standby Harmonica Features at a Glance:
  • All-purpose 10-hole harmonica

  • Key of C (diatonic)
Don't go anywhere without an Old Standby by Hohner in your pocket!

hohner old standby

At the price you cant go wrong , even if you can't play like a pro, this one is good enough to carry along in your pocket. You'll never get bored. Idle hands get you in trouble.

Old Standby

If you want to play harmonica well, these will not work. A word to beginners looking to save a few bucks; these Old Standbys are not an option. It's not like a beginner instrument at a lesser price. They simply do not work well. If you don't believe me, buy just one Chinese made Old Standby but also buy a German made Hohner or a high quality Japanese harp. Make the comparison and you will avoid the unnecessary purchase of more of these Old Standbys. You will clearly see the difference and in the future, you will only buy quality harps. By starting with good harps, you will give yourself a chance to learn how to play harp instead of thinking you just don't have what it takes. The Old Stanby is not an option.

Decline at any price

Airy, nearly impossible to bend. Bottom line: Impossible to play well. Therefore, they have no use. Save your money and buy good Japanese or German harps. These are not even fair. I had 7 different keys. Every last one was of them was junk. I put them out of commission by crushing them so that some poor unsuspecting want-to-be harp player did not take this path. Buy good harps. Period.
