    Fuzz on!

This is one very nice pedal; it can do all I want it to do. I've noticed it prefers to be closer to the front of my pedal chain; further down the chain it seems to saturate and overpower all my other effects pedals, so bear that in mind. Sounds corny, but one of my favorite features about this pedal is that is made in the USA. When combined with something like an Effectrode Tube-Vibe pedal and some delay/echo, you'll be quite close to that Hendrix / Trower sound. Nice.

    Crazy good

Not only does it nail the classic tones, but in the "standard fuzz" mode it is one of my favorite fuzz pedals (and I've tried just about all of them). Cleans up perfectly when you roll off the volume, has a nice crunchy bite. What I thought would be a special occasion pedal has turned out to be one of my "always on's".

It's fantastic but explain why I bought this

It's exactly what I wanted. Gets that Band of Gypsys-era octave fuzz sound, especially when you roll off the volume a tad. Don't know why, but there seems to be a beautiful sweet spot when the pedal gets a little less signal. Fantastic with single-coils and P-90's (haven't tried humbuckers yet). The big question is what will I do with an octave fuzz? Can anybody explain why GAS affects some of us in such a manner that a predominately acoustic musician would purchase such a device? Will I break into Jimi's "Who Knows?" in the middle of a James Taylor medley? Does Sweetwater offer support groups, or would sales decline? These are the answers I seek.

    Fulltone octafuzz

Sounds too good to be true. This pedal lives up to the rave reviews. Is a match made in heaven with a wah. Octavia sounds are amazing and the fuzz alone is worth every penny. Almost whisper quiet with single coils. TONE FOR DAYS with this one. I hope MIke Fullerton doesn't start believing his own hype (which isn't hype) and raising his prices. Thanks to Sweetwater engineer Ed Nystrom, I'm gettin closer to the Jimi sound all the time.

    great ring mod artifacts

According to Doc Fuller this is an exact rendering of the Tychobrahe Octavia circuit built to Fulltone higher end specs. 3 ways to use this pedal, turn the fuzz all the way down and just use the octave ring mod coolness into another drive or gain. Use fuzz by itself which is really intense for ge diodes. Or both at the same time like Gary Clark Jr uses it. Great pedal for the bucks to be sure. Campers do take note this is a reverse pos pin requiring the reverse cable and do not put a buffer in front of it and get it as up front chain as possible.

    Simply Amazing

I first looked at this pedal because Gary Clark Jr. uses one, so that and the description really sold me. Now that I have it I am totally a Fulltone customer. I catch myself saying, "I forgot how great this thing sounds." every time I turn it on. The range and versatility of this pedal is a marvel. It goes from so clean you can barely tell its on to a fuzz so thick it almost isn't music. I love it. Very simple, sturdy design and a cool color. And I love the knobs on the side that you use to open it instead of a screwdriver. I'm slowly and carefully piecing together my rig and this pedal is a perfect addition.

    Great, unique fuzz.

I don't know if I'd call this pedal versatile, but it does cover a lot of ground for a fuzz. It's a great fuzz in the normal mode, but the magic is in that up-octave mode. By working with picking pressure and volume knob, you can coax all kinds of bizarre ring-modulator artifacts out of double stops, palm muting or pinch harmonic techniques. The only reason I gave a 4.5 instead of 5, is that it takes a bit of tweaking to get the gain structure set so it's probably going to seem inconsistent or odd to less experienced players. Tortured funk-rock wailing for days.
