    Easy and Simple

Works exactly like expected. This is a really nice controller for the Chauvet Mini Kinta lights. When you set it on RGB mode you can independently control the Mirror, Strobe, and Color pattern.

    Not very easy to use.

    Somwhat useful but has limitations

For the money I guess this is an OK unit. My biggest beef is that in "Chase" mode the lights are either blinking off and on like a turn signal or if you want them to move through the colors slowly , you get a period between colors where there is no light on. I find this basically "blackout period" too long. Perhaps using Chase in Sound-Activated mode is better. I have yet to experiment with this in my band. The other thing is that the so-called Macros appear to be much the same as the color presets so this seems a bit redundant. Finally, the Obey 3 controller controls all the lights at the same time so they are essentially in slave mode all working as one. If you have, for example, a Slimpar 56 you can just connect them in slave mode and use the first light's built in settings to do some of the same effects without the need for a controller. Overall the Obey 3 is not bad. It does give you some control but I can see how this could be improved. Make sure your light fixture can operate in 3 channel mode or the unit will not work with them or give unpredictable results. With Slimpar 56s I set my fixtures to 3 CH and then d1 to get it to work with the controller.

    Limited control,confusing to learn

Trying to learn to use is like riding a bike with flat tires, you push a button like preset and nothing. You then have to hit it a couple of times and then it will respond, very limited and very sensitive on color selection and control. I guess what you pay for!!!
