Your Stage-ready Martin!

What happens when you merge the classic look and feel of a traditional Martin acoustic guitar with the convenience of today's modern acoustic-electric? You get the Performing Artist series, that's what! Like so many classic Martins from years past, the Performing Artist series is crafted using nothing but the finest tonewoods, with solid Sitka spruce for the top and solid Sapele making up the back and sides. Add to this a satin-finished neck, a unique neck carve, and a convenient cutaway, and you've got a guitar that's downright inspiring to play. But this is only half the story.

Martin takes the acoustic-electric guitar on an evolutionary journey, equipping these instruments with the Fishman F1 Analog electronics system. Far more than a simple pickup system, the discreetly mounted F1 Analog system offers a convenient onboard tuner as well as volume and tone controls to help take charge of your sound. This is the Performing Artist OMCPA4, a well-balanced instrument that's great for any style of music.

Omcpa4

I bought my OMC from a musician near Nashville. It had a slight buzz so I took it to a guy I know in the music business. He had it a couple days then called me to come pick it up. WOW! Incredible improvement. He made a slight adjustment on the neck and put new strings on it. He said he had a customer who wanted to buy it. I said no way. Love this instrument. I strongly recommend this guitar.

Tuning My Guitar

When I reach for my guitar, I am not worried about tuning it before playing. It stays in tune indefinitely. But I do like the built in tuning feature, just in case. Am not a fan of the original strings and replaced them with lighter gauge. Such a pleasure to play. Very happy with the choice. A very good investment and would highly recommend it to other musicians.
Music background: Been playing guitar since I was 9. Had my own band for about 14 years. Played professionally for about 5 years. Also play piano, bass, mandolin, banjo, steel guitar, etc.

Pretty Awesome

This is a fantastic guitar. Nice improvement from my last guitar. Better electronics, better sound, better feel, and I'm glad I've been studying guitars for the time I've been studying them. This really gave me a huge boost of energy. I can't put it down, it's so beautiful. I want to get a OMCPA1 someday, because it is cosmetically, a very beautiful guitar. I'm having so much fun with it. It's super comfortable, and just awesome. I think I would want gloss back and sides, though, and some abalone binding and an abalone rosette too, but this is perfect for now.

This Guitar is Marv! (part 2)

I just wanted to add something to my last review. That is that if you are a person looking for a guitar that sounds fantastic, but is cosmetically simple and traditional, which you may have got from my metaphor with Katy Perry, then this is the guitar for you.

This Guitar is Marv!

This guitar is the Katy Perry of guitars. She might not look the best, but she sounds pretty amazing. I like this guitar because it has a nice punchy tone, it's comfortable, it's looks are very simple, and the electronics are pretty nice. I like the pickup (Fishman Undersaddle Sonicore), but the preamp could be a bit better. It is a great preamp, but it doesn't have as much features as the F1 Aura+ or something. It's a bit limited, but for some people, it will suffice. It sounds amazing and it's super comfortable. Also, if you play a lot of dreadnought guitars, it might take a little to get used to this body, because the neck is just a bit wider, but the body is thinner, so that's what makes it so comfortable. Have fun!
