Neutron can offer presets customized to your sound, while still allowing full control over all your mix decisions. Neutron's Track Assistant analyzes your signal, automatically identifies instruments, and intelligently places EQ nodes where it determines you need them. You also get recommendations for processing starting points across all Neutron modules. You execute the actual processing, but you can see how this speeds up the process considerably.

With its five onboard modules, Neutron Advanced packs the creme de la creme of iZotope's audio processing tools. These processors - all zero-latency capable - include a dynamic/static Equalizer, two multiband Compressors, a multiband Exciter, and a multiband Transient Shaper, plus the BS.1770 True Peak Limiter.

The EQ is a real workhorse, with 12 bands of powerful static and dynamic equalization, a selection of new and classic filters, and flexible sidechain functionality. The Compressor is great for the punchy analog-style glue that holds your mix together, as well as for pristine digital dynamics control. The multiband Transient Shaper delivers responsive sonic sculpting with clarity, perceptual loudness, and impact.

The Exciter module gives you weight, punch, brightness, and presence without muddying up your tracks. The Limiter is onboard to ensure your mix kicks you-know-what. You have your choice of three algorithms - each with three modes - for results that range from ultra-transparent to full brickwall. Neutron's True Peak, RMS, and Short-term metering options provide broadcast- and codec-standard accuracy, so although your mixes will sound authoritatively loud, they will always be in compliance.

Neutron's Masking Meter, an industry first, lets you visually identify perceptual frequency collisions and other issues that can arise in a thick mix, such as guitars masking a lead vocal, bass muddying up the drums, and so on. Masking Meter lets you seamlessly toggle between any two tracks and carve out sonic space to ensure that each instrument occupies its own place in the mix.
