Really Beautiful

This guitar came from Sweetwater in absolutely perfect shape, the setup was excellent. Its seldom a guitar comes out of the box ready to play but this one did.The sound is incredible. Certainly loud enough for most acoustic uses but wait until you plug it in. the electric sound is so real and balanced, no quacking or harsh sounds. I love it right out of the box and the fit and finish are beautiful. Thanks again Sweetwater for making me a happy customer.

Yamaha NTX700C

First, I don't play guitar, yet. I wanted something that would inspire me to learn, something that plays easily, sounds rich and full and has style. I have found this instrument is easier to create cords with (what few I have created) than a couple other guitars friends of mine have. May daughter has played for years and has a Dean Zen electro acoustic. She likes this just as much and its a bit more compact. I'm very happy and hope we continue to have a long life together.
Music background: Mostly synths, effects processors, didge, frame drum, congas, bongos, indian flutes

Warm sound acoustically or amplified . . . however-

This guitar meets my need perfectly. Right out of the box it was playable and appeared to be set up fairly well with decent action and tonal richness for an instrument at this price point. My only disappointments were the sharpness of the fret edges which definitely need to be filed, and the poor intonation beyond the fifth fret. The NTX700C was strung with what feel like low tension strings; so, I hope a medium or medium/hard tension string will rectify the intonation problem. I am bringing the guitar to a high qualified tech to have him file the fret edges and address the intonation problem which is annoying, to say the least. I hope to use this guitar for performance, especially with sambas, bossa novas, etc., while on gigs; however, if the intonation problem is not resolved, I'll simply use it at home for practice. On a positive note, the cedar top does provides a rich, warm tone.
