Easily Control Your Effects!

We've all been there. There's a part of a song where you've got to turn one effect off and two more on. It takes a swift series of stomps, but wouldn't it be slick if you could do all that at once? Meet the Mini Effect Gizmo. Part of RJM Music's slick series of high-tech, but purpose-built, guitar gear, the Mini Effect Gizmo gives you five true-bypass audio loops to connect your gear. Then, using a standard MIDI controller, you can switch them on and off. Very cool. The Click Stopper feature makes sure your switching is quiet, and the relay-based switching system is the most transparent-sounding audio switching out there. You're going to love the RJM Music Mini Effect Gizmo.

RJM Music Mini Effect Gizmo Features at a Glance:
  • 5 relay switched audio loops, wired in series
  • Any loop can be used as a split point, allowing for 3/1, 2/2 and 1/3 splits. (Can be used to run some effects in front of the amp and some in the amp's effects loop, for example)
  • Buffered and unbuffered inputs
  • Click Stopper output and non-Click Stopper output
  • Internal voltage conversion provides +/-15 volts to the buffer and Click Stopper for maximum headroom and audio performance.
  • 256 presets, arranged in two banks of 128
  • Responds to MIDI Program Change and Continuous Controller messages
  • Can provide phantom power through the MIDI In jack. (9VDC, over pins 6&7 of a 7-pin MIDI cable)

Sleek, simple, easy to use audio loop Midi switcher

The title says it all. This unit works just as described. Programming patches is a snap. Send a Midi program change to the unit via your Midi controller (POD HD500 in my case), push the button/s of the loops you want engaged so they light up, hold the "write" button for a couple seconds, lights flash, preset saved. It even works with CC Toggle messages. So, I can have a patch in my POD with whatever loops in want on to begin with on the Mini Effect Gizmo, and setup the "FS" footswitches on my HD500 to toggle any loops on or off. If you are setting up togggle CC messages you don't even need to program that loop to be on via the Effect Gizmo. If the value is on for the patch of my POD, then the loop is on, if the value is off, then the loop will turn on when I step on the "FS" switch. Super easy to use right out of the box. Now I no longer have to tap dance for my patch changes in our Floyd show. I only have to step on my POD. The unit is also very compact, fitting easily on my pedalboard. But, when I'm ready to move to a rack setup, this Gizmo will fit right in the drawers with my (ex)stomp boxes. Very well built and straightforward.

This is perfect. I wanted a loop switcher and I had no more rack space. This solved all my problems. Works great solid build. I use this with a soft step midi pedal perfect setup.

RJM Mini Effects Gizmo is Terrific!

This product is fantastic and well suited for anyone using pedal-based effects! I have used a few other switching systems in the past and have two pedal boards, each with several pedals (10 and 15 to be exact). Nothing in the past has compared to RJM's Mini Effects Gizmo (MEG). The MEG is VERY well built, top-notch electronics, very versatile, very transparent and nice and compact. I have used Voodoo Labs Pedal Switchers and the Commander, which is okay but it is very large compared to its capabilities and the loops do seem to adversely affect tone, though not greatly. The jacks on the Voodoo labs switches are also a little suspect and I have had some problems with them in the past. Not so for the MEG. It fits perfectly in with the rest of my pedal board and lets my amps and pedals (and guitar, of course) come through the speakers without noise or tone loss. The buffer ant click stopper are also nice features and work very well. I have also tried the Rocktron Loop 8 & MIDI Mate and they are, quite honestly, terrible: very bulky, poor design and layout, not user friendly at all. The MEG is a joy to use! I have three chained together on my big board and two together on my small board, all controlled with the same Master Mind MIDI controller (also by RJM -awesome controller, by the way). The MEG is super easy to program and allows complete control of your pedal board. RJM makes fantastic products that perform well, integrate well with each other & are easy to use. The MEG is no exception. The only reasons I am not giving it a 5 out of 5 is that it is a bit tricky to plug in all of the necessary patch cables because of how the jacks are arranged on the MEG, but it is do-able with a little work & patience and the arrangement does allow for the MEG to be very compact and leave more room for organizing effects pedals. Also, I received one MEG with a loop that did not function. Sweetwater took care of it right away and the replacement has been fine. It has only been a few months since switching to the RJM line, so we will see what the durability of these units is, but so far, I could not be happier. Paired with the Master Mind, it definitely gives you complete control and lets you focus on playing and not tap dancing. Superb product!!!
