Solid Stands

I use these to hoist one pretty heavy 251 clones over my drum set. The stands are quite heavy duty, they don't tip, flex, or lose their positioning.

Amazing Solid Microphone Stand!

Once I took these stands out of the box, I was surprised as to how beefy and solid they were. These stands are strong and solid. I bought these for the studio primarily as drum mic stands. These work perfectly for that because of the telescoping boom arm that allows perfect mic placement without taking up alot of space behind the stand. These work great for vocals as well, live or in the studio. I now own six of these and are my "go-to" stands for all of my needs. I deffinently recommend these stands for anyone who wants a solid multipurpose microphone stand that will last a very long time!

OK Stands

The stands felt really solid when I first got them, but I came to find all the adjustment points leave something to be desired. Especially the main boom angle adjustment. Needs to be tightened a bit too much in order to stay in place. Feels kind of cheap. They've held up pretty good so far though.

Average stands for above average prices.

Will not support the weight of an 87 style large diaphragm condenser mic. I suppose they would work fine for smaller dynamic mics or pencil condensers, but there are $20-30 stands that can support the weight of an SM57. My Ultimate boom stands will hold a LDC in drum overhead positions, and they were less expensive than the Gator Frameworks. The GFW-MIC-2020 actually struggled to hold a Royer R10 in position in front of the kick. Very disappointed.

If there were negative stars…

First of all, I usually have a stellar experience with Sweetwater, but these "stands" (sits? droops?) have been a maddening exception. They look the part, to be sure, but they fail in just about every joint and lock their namesake alludes to (the grip-lock that supports height is decent enough).

I have used, or attempted to use, a basic dynamic mic, a condenser with a shock mount, and a gooseneck attachment. Anything lower than about 145 degrees (vertical base) and I thinks it's a willow tree, and even then I have to tighten it to the point of potentially stripping screws. Need to get it to a specific side position to maneuver around gear or get the perfect angle to capture the sweet spot of an audio source? Not happening without a zero-point-gravity machine. I compare it to an old "Stageline" stand I found at a dumpster that FAAAARRRR outperforms these.

The only thing worse than getting one of these is getting three…
