    Does the job

    Almost Perfect

Yes, the foam is glued upside down. Just peel out and re-insert as shown in picture. If Apogee would have added two small velcro straps to hold the Mic and Tripod in place, I would have given perfect rating. It's a great kit though.

    Good Kit Overall

The main reason for the purchase was for the longer cable (3 ft. just doesn't work in most studios) and the mic stand attachment. A little pricey for what you get but, if you're mobile often, it's a great little package to protect the goods and stay organized.

    Good, but not Apogee quality

Waited a long time for these kits to be in stock and I bought one on the Apogee online store because they had it first. Received mine Christmas Eve. The extra long cables are great to have and the mic stand adapter seems well-built (mostly metal) and also works great for mounting a small camera. However, there are issues with the case:

The case has a nice stiff shell for protecting the MiC, but the foam insert that holds the MiC, the tripod and the stand adapter in the case I received is glued in upside down (compared to the image on the website). This means that the MiC is stored next to the case spine along with the cables. There isn't adequate depth in the case, so the cables get tightly smashed agains the MiC when I close the case. In the website photo you'll see that the MiC should be stored opposite the spine.

Another issue with the foam insert is that the spaces for the MiC and accesories are too shallow and loose to hang onto their cargo. So, when I open the case the MiC and tripod fall right out of the insert. I have to remember to open the case laying flat with the logo up so that gravity keeps the items in place.

One other minor issue, is the netting that holds the cables in place isn't quite large enough to hold both 3-meter cables in place unless they are very thightly wrapped with a cable tie. Not a huge issue for me, since I will probably keep my shorter stock cables in the case and store the long cables in my laptop case.

Since buying the cables and stand apadter individually would have cost me as much as this whole kit, it's like getting the case free. I just wish the case was worthy of the MiC!
