Samson nailed it
The MediaOne monitors arrived in an extremely well packed box which virtually eliminated any chance of shipping damage. I built a couple of foam and wood sandwiches to set them on and after hooking up the power supply pairing them with the laptop went smooth and easy. The sound is crystal clear and I heard all kinds of things to tweak and fix in my mixes right out of the gate. The frequency range sits nicely right in the middle of everything; for instance, [a] the low end is much better than in my headphones and Bose wave, [b] about the same as my "ghetto blaster" and car audio and [c] not nearly as good as my home and computer systems which have dedicated woofers. I am confident that mixing and mastering with these will give me a perfect compromise across the full spectrum of systems. The use of BT instead of wires is a stroke of genius; it makes locating the monitors exactly where you need them a snap and moving the monitors around ( such as for checking out various room acoustics) is simplified. The BT also comes in handy for listening to material directly from a smart phone or tablet. I also am surprised how handy the headphone jack is; I didn't think I'd use it but it's just too handy to ignore. I suppose by sinking a lot more money into a set of monitors I might get some improvement but I don't think it would be much and it certainly wouldn't give me the same bang for the buck as these do. The only reason I didn't give these five stars is because I wasn't "blown away" but I sure as heck am very impressed. The best way to say it is that what goes into the microphone on the front end gets accurately reproduced on the back end with these monitors. These exude quality; they are very well designed and finely crafted, and fulfill their intended purpose quite nicely.
