Great Tutorial for Mastering
This video does a good job of running you through the basics of what T-R 3 can do for you, along with describing what the different plug-ins have to offer. I don't watch a lot of instructional vids, so I can't rate this one vs. other vids, but this one does go through the basics of T-R 3 as a mastering chain and describes the individual plug-ins rather well.
A more experienced user will get a good bit out of this. For the DAW beginner, it might be a little much to grasp all at once. Of course, if you're into mixing and mastering your own materials, you probably already have a good grasp on basic tools and techniques anyway. This is definitely a helping tool for those who own T-Racks 3 but might need a little instruction. Like myself, I have very little experience mastering my own material and projects that others record with me, so I wanted some tools to help in that process when my local clients can't afford mastering. This DVD is also good to get if you're seriously considering purchasing T-R 3, as it helps you see the many possibilities available with the T-R 3 plug-ins.
IMHO, T-R 3 is an affordable and necessary tool for the home / project studio. If you need to A-B your mixes, this is one of the strong points of T-R 3. So if you're thinking of getting into T-R 3, or looking at doing your own mastering, check out this video as it goes through the different steps involved. I particularly like the section that touched on mid-side compression / EQ, which is an area in which I don't have much experience.
P.S. I don't work for IK or this company that made this vid, but I am a huge IK fan. I have all their Amplitube products, all their VI's, and these plug-ins are top notch. I own dozens of Waves and UAD plug-ins, plus a few extras, but the IK T-Racks 3 is right up there with them. If you're a home studio owner, you owe it to yourself to check out IK's plug-ins, and this video is a must-have.
