The Most Flexible Digital Drum Machine Available

By Nason Benjamins from Washington, United States on September 2, 2015

This is the best drum machine I have purchased to date, and currently own 3. This machine is well worth the 1500 that you pay for it. The sampler feature may be a little bit of a let down if thats why you want this instrument. It is 12-bit only and since this model comes with a plus drive, it can store 4 user recorded samples at a time, and they are gone once you turn the machine off (as far as im aware). If you want samples permanently, then you have to use the included TM-1 midi interface and download the C6 program from elektron (or other sysex program) to send midi dump samples to the machine. But the actual drum machine aspect of this instrument is incredible. I couldnt have asked for a more variable, and capable drum machine. Overall extremely happy with my purchase.

Pay extra for the UW version.

Like the title says. The UW expands the Machinedrum so it can use samples, sample itself, etc... Allows the machinedrum to reach its true potential.

The SPS-1 is also fine on its own as well. I would just highly recommend paying extra for the UW feature set.

What else can I say about this drum machine that hasn't already been said? It is fantastic! It hits hard! It literally makes millions of sounds! The sequencer is bananas! It is durable! Instant dance/IDM/trance/Dubstep/hip hop/dub/etc! It makes lesser drum machines flee for their lives!

Also, by far the EASIEST electron device to use. Works equally well in a live or studio environment.

Amazing Drum Machine

By Denton from Santa Fe, NM on December 9, 2013 Music Background: Composer

I have been loving this machine since I got it. The best feature is that there are 16 available sounds which can all be individually programmed and processed within the device. Furthermore, you can send out up to six outputs for further processing using external effects. I have been sending some of the sounds out to external synths and I have been getting psychotic sounds using the filters and what not on other synths to process the sounds of the Machinedrum. I have not ran into a single complaint about this thing since I started using it a month ago. It is fun to use and really easy to figure out if you have used other sequencers and drum machines in the past. I plan on purchasing a couple of other devices from Elektron within the coming year!

swedish perfection

intuitive, solid construction and clearly designed by people who have live performance improvisation in mind. this machine is also reliable with a full spectrum sound profile from synthetic to acoustic emulation that is a must own for every studio setup. the fact that you can also use the step sequencer to control external hardware/plugins is a definite plus. Elektron's customer service is also friendly and quick to respond.

Wow... and more

By Justin from San Antonio, Tejas on November 15, 2010 Music Background: Being a human

Hate to say it, but this thing drips and wallows in it's own awesomeness.
I have no other 'real' synthesizers, but this thing does a little bit of everything so don't let the "drum" in "Machinedrum" fool you into thinking it's only capable of of being another drum machine.
