16 Channels of ADAT Lightpipe For The O2R96

The MY16AT Mini-YGDAI Digital I/O card can be used with Yamaha's 02R96 digital consoles to provide up to 16 channels of simultaneous ADAT-format optical input and output via a single expansion slot. All 16 channels can be used independently at sample rates up to 48 kHz, or the MY16-AT can be used for "doublechannel" connection to 24-bit/96-kHz recorders providing 8 channels of I/O at 88.2 or 96 kHz.

Although the 02R96 handle 24-bit/96-kHz audio as standard, most of the currently available digital recorders can handle 24 bit/96-kHz audio only in double channel mode (using 2 tracks to make one). In this configuration the 02R96 use one channel for one track, but twice the number of I/O connections must be used. Thus, in double-channel mode a single 16-channel MY16-AT card will handle up to 8 channels of 24-bit/96-kHz audio. With the newest recorders that handle 96- kHz audio as standard (in double speed mode like the 02R96) you can make standard connections using the MY8-AE96 card.

Yamaha Adat expansion Card

Although this card is advertised for the 02V digital mixer it fits any device that accepts the MY-AT slot in my case that was a Yamaha 01V96 MKII.The mixer comes standard with an one channel ADAT port but I wanted to hook up to a 24TRK Digital in the form of a Fostex D2424 LV.The card provides the extra two ports and is real easy to install. All that is required is that you remove a small cover at the rear and slot the card into the unit using two guide rails at each side, nothing could be easier. On rebooting the mixer the additional inputs are recognised immediately, it now means I can record 24 tracks @ 48K into my Fostex which would be great for live gigs.I also have a computer sound card with ADAT so it means the routing possibilities are endless. All in all a great product and an easy expansion for the Yamaha.
