Best Tool For The Job

Lectern microphones when spoken into by inexperienced speakers can drive even the most experienced audio engineer to drink. (Of course in reality it takes very little to get most audio engineers to drink, but you get the point.) For years we have used an 18" gooseneck mic and have had problems with the infamous plosives. We noticed the worse offenders would always pull the mic to them and proceed to inadvertently beat box their speech. For this last graduation cycle of 5 major commencements in 2 days we purchased the Shure MX412/C. We found with some notable exceptions, because the mic was not as accessible to be re positioned the speakers by in large spoke without paying attention to the mic and thus no popping of the p's. This mic has excellent response and great range for speaking situations. As always my reps. at Sweetwater handled my order with the professionalism and speed I have come to expect.
