I have used these monitors with Garageband doing old cassette transfers that were exported to iTunes. They sound great. They are very unobtrusive, loud, and absolutely crystal clear. If you are considering a pair of small monitors for a home office desk or small workstation, these would be one of my first choices.
Insanely good value.
For the $$$? Insane!
Blew a tweet on my main monitors. Friend loaned me these.
Wow! I've made many of my best mixes on these.
Several friends using the 5s with great success. Now jonesing for a pair of 7s. Flippin' amazing,
These are remarkable value for money.
I bought them as the third set in a three monitor setup that includes Yamaha MSP-7 and HS-5 series monitors.
There are tight, responsive and punchy, and the electronics and build are what you would expect to find from Yamaha.
These are great!
Blew a tweeter on my old reliable Tannoy PBM 6.5. Borrowed a pair of even older Yama NS10Ms. Not happy.
Good friend loaned me a pair of these - what boon! Much nicer moment to moment, and clients much happier.
I may go up to a larger model when he needs these back (two other friends have the MSP5s, and are thrilled with them), but these are simply awesome for the size & $$$.
Good for the money
Considering how cheap they are, these are fine monitors. They deliver a clean sound, albeit a touch high on the mids. There is little bass response, but you can't expect to have that with speakers like this. Again though, for the money this is a good deal.
