First off let me assure anyone looking at /thinking of buying this guitar, that it plays extremely well. It is metal yet has a surprisingly good clean characteristic no doubt exemplified by the Seymour Duncan pickups. If you can afford such a beast I'd highly recommend it.
Upon receiving the guitar from Sweetwater the first thing I noticed was that the setup was fantastic, the second was the weight of the guitar which is light and beautifully balanced. I tend to play heavier music and practice 5+ hours on practice days and I've never once been fatigued by the guitar. The sustain is everything you'd expect from a neck-through design (which on a guitar of this price is really good by the way!) and the fret job is great. The carved contour on the front of the guitar and the tummy cut in the back assume maximum comfort while playing. The TonePros TOM bridge adds to the stability and never fails to help with intonation backed up by the nice locking tuners from LTD (also surprisingly good). This guitar is beautiful to look at with its deep blue hue, figured maple top, rosewood fingerboard, abalone inlays, and blacked out hardware. The tones from the pickups are diverse and offer a surprising amount of crunch when given the heavy gain treatment. For under $1000 its my gigging guitar and I get plenty of compliments on it.
As always Sweetwater does a fantastic job with customer service and satisfaction. Big shout out to Ed Nystrom for helping me get it squared away with three payments. Him and the rest of the Sweetwater crew keep us musicians rolling with out busting our budgets!
