    variety, but nothing official

    Good Mixer

I bought this to mix our church band, etc., close to a year ago. We don't use all of the features, but I witnessed the quietness of Yamaha mixers before and reasonable quality in general for the cost. This mixer performs nicely for us and we have no complaints otherwise. Half star discount due to price being a little more than I would have liked, and since it is really not 16 discrete channels (just like most any mixer... the last few channels do different mixing theory than the first 8 or 12 or whatever) and I accept part of the blame as not fully understanding how some of it is supposed to work. A Yamaha mixer will be recommended for purchase again, if a similar need arises.

Amazingly quite with a lot of nice features.

Over-all this is a great mixer for the price. It's amazingly quite with a lot of nice features like lighted channel on switches, six channel compression, and parametric mid-range eq, but it is not built as rugged as a Mackie. I purchased the unit to use on video shoots and band gigs. I was thinking that this would serve as a nice audio interface but USB is only two channel out, post mix. Product write up does not do a great job of describing how USB interface works.

I would recommend a hard shell travel case for this unit.

Good Product, but not all it seems

A solid mixer with an incredible number of features and channels for the price but not all the features are fully fledged enough to be useful. The effects are alright, the compressors are sort of useful but obviously can't be manipulated much since they're only a single knob and finally the USB is misleading. It only sends the left and right main outs to your computer but I probably shouldn't have expected more on such an inexpensive mixer. Not terribly useful for creating a well mixed live recording.
