Works for what I need and more

I use Yamaha mixers and have used them since around 2000. This is my 4th mixer from Yamaha and is exactly what I needed and expect from Yamaha. It is very simple to use and handles what I need it to do. I do not need a lot of the extras that you can get from Yamaha and other mixers. All my other Mixers still work and are great I just needed more inputs for some shows I booked this year. It is so simple and easy to use out of the box that it makes my life so much easier. I use these at Rodeo and outdoor events so these get exposed to the elements constantly. It is also the easiest to clean after each use. Even with all the dust and dirt it is exposed to, the faders still slide smoothly. Straight forward design and easy to follow signal path and adjustments. I am very happy with Yamaha Mixers and will continue to use and purchase them.

Great quality for the price; not as durable as most other boards.

The preamps and compressors on this board sound fantastic. The phantom power is always a nice addition. The faders are all smooth and the knobs have no kinks. The channel grouping buttons are a nice addition but something to get used to. This board does not have RCA outs or a Control Room master fader. I think that it's not necessary for live sound applications. This is a a simple board that sounds good. I personally think it will get dents, lose faders, and get scratched easily over time, but, overall it is a really nice board for the price.
(I would personally use this board as a live mixer for only drums. I record live sessions and I would send the mains from this board to my interface; the other instruments and vocals would go directly to my interface.)
