My Fingers Love 'Em

Just strung up my Taylor 110E with a set of these for the first time. As I expected, the tone is deep and rich when new like most PB strings. But I was really looking for the flexibility that Martin advertised and found it to be exactly as stated. Bar chords, bends and overall playability are much improved with this set compared to standard sets. Haven't had the strings on long enough to know the lifespan and I'm used to Elixir so I doubt these will outlast those. However, I will definitely keep at least one guitar strung with a set of these just for practice if nothing else. No sore fingers or difficult chord transitions with these. I prefer a brighter sound so I just pick a little closer to the bridge with 'em on the Taylor. I also strung up my Seagull S6 for comparison and they are definitely brighter on that guitar just because of it's tone woods and construction. Glad I tried them, will definitely be using them long term. It's a bit of a hybrid set that's not for everyone, but for steel string acoustic ease of play they can't be beat.

Martin SP Flexible Core Phosphor Bronze

I am primarily an electric guitar player and have been playing over 50 years. I put these on a Taylor acoustic after having the action set as low as possible to match my electrics. Bless the Taylor bolt on neck. It is superb and the best. I was looking for a string that produced a good sound, played evenly across the strings, and easy on the hands & fingers. This set of Custom Light MFX775's replaced a set of good quality 10's. I was surprised to find, bigger & better sound, and playability surpassing the 10's. Easy to fret, easy to bend, and easy add touch nuances to the sound. Very happy and one benefit I did not expect was less string noise than usual. Try these.

Excellent for Old Hands & Recording

I have played guitar for 45+ years, now retired, with a home recording studio. I have trouble with the basil joint at the base of my thumb in my left hand and these strings make it so much easier to play. They sound great recording, nice & full, but not as bright as regular PB strings, but also less of that annoying squeak!
