The Boss ME-20B is the next evolution in great bass guitar effects pedals.

    Tone Suck

This pedal kills any dynamic response while in your signal chain. I play an Ibanez 3005 through a tc electronic rh750, a tc212, and an ashdown mag115. I really like the tone I get with my setup and I have a few pedals sitting between my bass and the amp (I don't use the effects loop); that was until I plugged the ME-20B in. Whether the effect is on or off, the pedal sucks the openness and range of the tone and seems to compress the signal. There are a few effects under the mod section that I was impressed with. The reverb allows the dry signal to cut very well while still allowing very heavy feedback settings. The rest of the effects I wasn't a fan of. Take your time while building a board for your bass. Individual pedals may cost a bit more, but remember, you don't have to buy them all at once. You'll be much happier in the end.

Good for bass and guitar, surprisingly!

I got this over Ebay with a Fleabass I had bought for 300$--the ME20b was free. While it is used and the wah/volume pedal switch is broken (the wah cannot fully be used) the pedal sounds very, very good for bass!! It has a deep, rich chorus sound that is amazingly usable, and I like the reverb alot too!! But I was especially surprised when I plugged my six string in--man oh man, does this thing do it all for guitar!! The rich chorus and classic DS-1 style distortion (which is probably the exact BOSS DS-1 circuit just slapped in this pedal, btw) is perfect for those classic Kurt riffs and the gain can be cranked for killer lead tones. I am shocked by how good this sounds on both guitar and bass! Definitely a recommended buy, even if for a seemingly strange reason.

    A super pedal

I was looking for a pedal to use as a back up to my Roland VB-99 bass system.I read about this unit and I had to try it.The sounds are almost just like my v system.Because it's a floor pedal I can use it anywhere.I love my Vb-99 but this baby is very hot and easy to use.I am happy Bass player.

    Amazing pedal

Honestly, this is a great pedal. It has a ton of effects (as many as you would ever possibly need and tons more), it's easy to use and program, you can get really precise custom tones, plus it has a built in volume/wah pedal and a tuner. There are so many patches for your own tones, and it has not broken and Boss is usually incredibly tough. For the price, I'm very pleased with this pedal. Get it!
Only two minor complaints, which aren't major at all. One is that I find the built-in noise threshold to be unnecessary, and simply limits the tone about around 20, I keep it at 5. Also, the tuner isn't as accurate as a chromatic one, but it does work pretty well. Love the pedal, it will elevate your bass sound to the next level defiantly.

    This Pedal "IS" The Boss!!!

I have been a performing artist now for close to 30 years and have had several old school pedals to hard to replace pedals that I purchased while performing in Japan and this by far is the best multi-effect pedal I've found out on the market. I recently purchased this to replace what I lost in a fire and this baby's got the goods. To begin with, it's very user friendly in editing any patch stored, EQ settings and you can create 30 patches of your own sounds. It comes loaded with the hottest in vogue sounds any Bassist would want to dial up on demand ie. a very clean "Defretter" tone. Also, it has the best Tuner I've seen where you can even tune to any sharp (C#, D#) you require. Also it's Plug & Play ready as it comes with 6 alkaline batteries to get you started right away. But the biggest feature I love about this pedal is you get the best sound and the most bang for your buck!!! The only draw back (not that big of a deal) is the Expression Pedal size is small. You just have to adjust with good foot placement when using it as a Volume/Wah Pedal. I highly recommend this to any Bassist in search of the "One Pedal to Rule them all".
