Get Stadium Firepower From the GK MB800

Just when you thought bass heads couldn't get any smaller and more powerful - along comes the Gallien-Krueger MB800. GK's really done it this time - packing massive firepower and full pro functionality into an affordable featherweight head. Wielding its massive 800 watts, the MB800 handily deals with stadium gigs - and at 4.9 lbs., no one will believe you don't have a ginormous amp hidden in the wings.

About that pro functionality: GK's fitted this little beast with everything you need. The MB800's controls are illuminated to indicate operating status: input clip, tuning mute, gain A, gain B/level-B, power amp clipping, limiter enable, and EQ/contour settings. Every stage of the MB800's discrete FET-driven preamp features the same FET technology used to create the proprietary boost circuit found in all GK amps. (That's GK's Gate Induced Valve Effect - G.I.V.E. for short.) Driving the MB800's 4-band active EQ, contour, and gain with FET devices allows the MB800 to migrate seamlessly from warm and clean, to a full-on growl with major attitude.

So for tonight's gig, give your roadies the night off - you've got this covered. Get the GK MB800.

Super Amp

This amp packs a big punch at only 5lbs. I had owned one previously and regretted getting rid of it so I finally was able to get another. This amp sounds great through my 2 2x12's and really bumps through my GK CX410 4ohm cab. It fits nicely in your gig bag.

Amazing Output / Clean

I bought the MB800 to replace my 20 year old GK 400 RB as suggested by Paul Allen my sales consultant. I was a little skeptical at first considering the size an weight: no need to worry. This amp cranks. Nice features such as the eq, active contour and channel switching capabilities let you dial in any sound you may be after.Light enough for a gig bag, but I purchased the rack ears to rack mount it. It is so good looking you'll want to protect it. The dials have a nice blue illumination when powered on, and the mute switch is great when break time rolls around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

More than just loud...but yeah, it's LOUD!

I've mostly only play through tube heads over the years. SVTs, V4Bs and while those are still great amps the MB800 is a monster. Crazy power and punch. The contour knob really helps push clear punch and the pre-gain gives over to some awesome growl ! Great amp with crushing power and for it's price blows away amps that have cost me four and five times as much. Save Your Back...and your bank account and get one of these.

It's a BEAST

After much hand ringing and head rubbing I ordered my MB800 compact bass head. I have been amazed, gidy, and left speehless with my purchase. First let me say that the weight on this unit is stunning, after 40 years of playing bass I have lived long enough to take advantage of technology. At 4.5 pounds, 800 watts it gives me everything I need, very easy to use on a dark stage with the lightup controls, Plus all the tone you need for Rock, Country, Blues. Just a great little workhorse. Can't wait to get the matching 410 cabinets. Do yourself and all the muscles you have strained over the years moving SVT heads. It's a BEAST.
