    GK MB112 . . . amazing

I've used a number of different amps; Crate, Carvin, GK, SWR. I've used big rigs and practice amps, but by far this has been my favorite amp as far as sound quality and power. I've even used the GK RB1001 with the Army band I play for and I still like the simplicity and clear tone of MB112 just a little better. It doesn't have the same volume, but I love this amp.
I took it recently to play with my rock/funk band, which gets pretty loud and this little 28 pound thing held its own with no direct out or monitors.
This thing is sweet and is well worth the money I paid for it. And did I mention it's only 28 lbs? I love this amp!

    Amazing Amp

Got this amp 2 days ago and brought it to practice today and WOW! It sounds amazing and you can feel the thump half way up. It sounds nice and clean. Playing it with a Boss GT-10B and it handles all that is put through it. I went with it because of the weight and the watts. I can believe this amp packs this much punch at 27lbs. I may even bring it on some smaller venues. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.

Great sound. light weight. I'm in love

This amp was exactly what I was looking for. Something that would hold it's own with drum kit and guitars, and didn't break my back. Sounds great. Lots of tone options, and easy to move. Very happy.

    Wow, Powerful Clean Box

This is my first Bass amp, a beginner myself but technically bought this so that our bass player in our band could have an amp to plug into. We run a band overseas in Afghanistan after hours as a morale booster with smooth jazz and R&B. We have to have the clean low end, we are already running a total of 6 Yamaha MSR series speakers which push lots of bass for the rest of the instruments. Our bass player, keyboard player, drummer and lead guitar player have been professionals for a number of years and were blown away at how this small box can push out such clean, punchy, and rather powerful bass for its size and weight through the band!! To compare we have a Trace Elliot that we borrowed from another location with a 15in woofer, rated at 250 watts and weights 3 times more, this GK out does the Trace Elliot by far. For me it was worth every dollar just from the start and am very pleased so far and hope durability does the same. The only down side is its not a tilt back and when plugging into the direct out, GK should have designed the XLR plug a full 180 deg turned around because the lock pin is against the box therefore you have to use a screwdriver or similar to unlock the plug, we are going to remove the locking pin from the cable. After much debate between several other combo amps and taking recommendations from my sales engineer Ed Needler (Thanks Ed) this was a great choice for our application that was more then we thought. The only different thing I would have done if I needed to was purchase the larger GK with the Dual 12s and 500 watt amp, but since the Yamaha's push great bass if we need more will just run the direct out to them lightly. Great Product!!

    great bass amp

I just got the MB112 two days ago, after a long wait due to unavailability here in Europe. Right after I hooked it up to my Ibanez BTB675 I was amazed a the fundamental bass tone, well defined and clear, with all the controls at neutral!!! Unbelievable for such a small and light amp! Loud enough for small gigs, so I can leave my EBS HD350 top & 410 cabinet (55 kg) at home more often!

    One major flaw...

Good sounding amp, but one MAJOR flaw... As a sound man, I went to plug the XLR in the direct output to send to the house mix and quickly realized that the realease tab on the XLR is squeezed beteen the socket and the cabinet! no possible way to remove cable except by using a key or other small hard object to wedge between and release it. This is a huge hassle and could potentially damage the amp in the long run. Dont know how GK managed to let this slip, but I wouldn't recommend this amp for that reason and that reason alone.
