Great Bag

Awesome gig bag well worth the money
5/5

Love This Gig Bag!

This bag is everything I had hoped. I got the bass one first because I mostly play guitar and one of them is a Firebird which will not fit in a guitar bag. I do also play bass on occasion. It is very important for me to have a backup guitar or bass. I rarely need to use it but the piece of mind is critical to being able to focus on more important things (like musicianship and entertaining) at the gig. This bag achieves the goal very well. Extra pad and strap of the the necks. Pockets in the front for small things like trem arm, slide, wallet and keys and big things like cables and pedals. 4 different straps and 4 metal loops for a variety of carrying and add on options. Very well padded! I've already knocked it down with nary a concern for the instruments inside. This is especially important with Gibsons and their notoriously break friendly headstock joint. My gig setup is now 100% grab and go. This bag and an amp and I am good to go! I love this gig bag!

Great functionality, well thought out but smells bad

I can't give this more than a 4 for these reasons. There's that awful rubber/plastic smell that accompanies products these days. I'm not sure if this is made in China, but it smells like it. I believe the bag will provide the protection the company guarantees but I not convinced of long term, gig after gig after gig, reliability/durability. The main zipper on the front part of the case has stuck almost every time I've opened or closed it. The good: I carry a regular 5 string and a 4 string headless bass to gigs and this bag does it well. For the amount of protection I think the bag will provide, it's light in weight. The pockets are well thought out and really expand functionality. It's a professional looking bag but not so much that it attracts unwanted attention from dirt bag instrument thieves. Using the backpack straps it balances very well on your back. I'm impressed by this aspect. I like it well enough I'm considering getting the guitar version of this bag for my 6 string gigs. I'd like it A LOT BETTER if it were priced a hundred dollars lower!

A good idea in need of more oomph.

I love the idea of two-bass gig bag. Mono was spot on in their design, but the execution left me a little disappointed. For a + $300 gig bag, which is the outer edge of this market, I expected better zippers. As a comparison, look at any Red Oxx bag, with their #10 YKKs. That's the type of zipper I'd want to see on these top of the line Mono bags. Otherwise I'm very happy with all the other aspects of this bag.
