    M Audio Raised the Bar

To start off, let me say that these are not your average size 6 inch monitors. When I pulled these bad boys out the box I thought they was 8 inch instead of 6. One of these is almost twice the size of one of my old BX5s and one of these monitors sound like both of my BX5s. The Eq controls are a plus for me coming up from the BX5s also even tho I haven't played with it to much yet. All around great product, look good and sound great but like I stated, they are big so if you are working in a tight space, these may not work for you. Great job M Audio and Sweetwater payment plan made it easy for me to buy one and pay for the other in payments.

    wow great deal

After jumping on the krk band wangon (krk 8 g2) I felt like it was time for a change. Although the guy at the music store was set on selling me krk g3, I did my research the m 3 6, have 160 watts krk 100, and the m3 6 are actually biger the the krk 8, krk 8 2 way, m 3 3 way, bottom line the sound is much better side by side, the krk have good bass but I little turn on the low end knob on the m 3 and the bass was big and clean turn it all the way up and I don't think you would need any more bass, I am glad I didn't get the m3 8 because I just don't have the room they are very big like a krk 10, the price is very good for what you get the, I am no tone knob but I do like a good sound with my gear, bottom line if your looking for a set of monitors check they out before you buy anything else, right now there is a wait time because they are selling as fast as they can make them,

    Understand what you want

M-audio has made a great jump! I have used HS5, HS8, Krk, Jbl, and Mackie. Please understand that these are 3-way monitors, if you are biases to 2-way speakers then you may want a different monitor. In my opinion 3-way monitors give you a distinct separation between the vocal and bass in a song which we need so much in modern music. I have found a better balance in my mixes with these monitors both the 6in and 8in models. The added EQ is a big plus also!

    Terrible

Dont get them. They are not good for mixing. If you want it simply for playback they are worth your time. If not, save your money.

    Waste Of Money

I just got 'em today . After comparing them with my YAMAHA HS5 side by side and played Bass , Kick , HiHats , etc . there is no way to keep 'em !
My YAMAHA HS5 is much better and cleaner .
I tried the EQ on M-Audio M3 6 to make it sound good but there is no comparison with my YAMAHA HS5 !
I played some Omnisphere bass seq sound and I couldn't here the detail of the sound . where I could here it with YAMAHA HS5 .
    So , I returned 'em .
I just wasted my time on these monitors .

    i was wrong

I guess I jump the gun, after moving the m3 6 into my studio I heard a hiss, then I turn the volume up got wose, the the eq wose, then the pluged into the inter face and the white noise on top of a horblie buzz made them unusable, the fact that they are not sheilded when sitting beside my visual monitors didn't help, but the manufacturer should have seen the problem, I returned them and still shopping around, would say if you buy these be prepared for a noisy set of monitor I could not take it and returned them.and
