Great mic!

I purchased a Rode M1 (demo) mic. Looks & sounds brand new!! I think the Rode M1 sounds BETTER than my Shure SM58!!

Great tone & no "p" pops

I told Aric at Sweetwater that I was having trouble with popping on my "p" sounds with my cheapie mic that came with my karaoke deck. He recommended the Rode M1 and said it should help. It sounds great with live music and tracks and feels great in your hand (nice and solid). Love it! Thanks, Aric!!

Great sounding mic

I've been a fan of Rode mics for years so I decided to try the M1. I really like it, and the built-in pop filter works great. Highly recommended if you're generally not a fan of the SM58.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Mike Harris

I've waited a couple of years to write this review. I loved the Rode M1 when I first started using it, but wanted to make sure it could take the abuse. (I admit it, I'm not easy on my gear, and the musicians who play at my venue DEFINITELY aren't easy on my gear!) I've had six Rode M1 mics at my venue for over three years now and use them in the most demanding situations with great results! With higher gain before feedback, less drum spillage, tighter low-mids, and a LIFETIME WARRANTY, I'll never go back to my old friend with the silver grill.
