I tuned up a pretty cruddy little guitar for a nephew. It started with dull iron stings and a cupid bow neck. For the first time the truss rod was tightened. As part of the desire to have the kid train well, I put on a set of these M-1400 strings. The light gauge is easy on the neck. The tone is bright on the top end. Happy steel resonance when all strings are in tune. In strum, the bottom end has nice whoom, but not much volume. These strings are lovely when playing alone. Highly recommend using a piezo pickup for volume. I'm using them on my electrified guitars now, too.

Great strings!

I put a set on my Loar LO216 right after I got it, as part of the setup. These are the perfect strings for this guitar , which is an "O" size. They sound great and are easy on my fingers. I play mostly electric guitar, so these are an easy adjustment. I use this guitar for fingerstyle blues and Travis style picking, so they are easy to bend. These are mellow and full sounding, so they probably won't work as well for flatpicking or bluegrass rhythm.

great sound. Different from heavier 80/20. More mellow.

I like them

I put these on an old Epiphone acoustic which was a tank to play. It has become a totally playable guitar due to the ease on the fingers and I think they sound really good too. It's a full, shimmery sound and open chords sound spectacular. I will put nothing else on this guitar and I'm glad I ran across them. As with anything, you can't please everyone and I recommend buying a set to try........especially with a tough playing guitar. Hope this helps.

Smooth as Silk

A friend of mine turned me on to these strings. They feel SMOOOTH and SILKY, bend well and sound great.
