Lanikai Concert Gig Bag

It works perfectly for the Lanikai Concert Ukulele.

Great fit and some protection

I only give it 4 stars as it is just a gig bag. But it makes no pretense at being a rigid protective case so that is fine. It is a very well built gig bag and perfectly designed to custom fit the Uke it is sized for. But still a gig bag. It offers an excellent way to store a Uke when not in use and you can hang the Uke up in it from the top strap D-ring on something like a large screw in cup hook, thus protected from dust and minor bumps plus in a safer place than on any flat surface where something heavy might be put on it. I did not like the idea of putting something in the front pocket that might serve as a hard focal point for transferring impact so I cut up the packing material the Uke was encased in and put four layers of it into the front pocket to extra protect the critical stringed front of the Uke. I feel the front pocket is far more valuable as a place to add padding than somewhere to stuff things that might prove a hazard to the Uke inside. I did not like the leather handle sleeve and cut it off at once. The remaining nice webbed handle is just fine by itself. I added one of those velcro wrap arounds used on luggage in bright yellow with my three initials on it instead. Rigid side walls is rather a euphemism. But it provides useful protection inexpensively. I cannot imagine purchasing an instrument you mean to seriously try to learn and use without some level of storage protection such a this. Especially if you are going to carry it about with you. There was space behind the neck inside so I sewed in a very small cloth bag to hold a small clip on tuner and a capo just above where the neck to body attachment fits into the case. About the only two essentials you might want to carry in such a case. it offers one very nice extra bit, a substantial packing pad velcro»ed to the end against which the very bottom of the Uke fits. Very pleased and especially glad I got this when I ordered the Uke.
