I learned to play on a strat and that's what feels most comfortable to me. I owned an LP copy for awhile but the weight and fat neck caused me to sell it and dislike LP"s. I've always liked the way Gibsons sound, but waning quality and inflated prices made me leary. I've heard the quality has been improving and when I read the specs of the studio pro, I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did, because I'm beside myself happy! The slim neck and modern weight relief makes this a more comfortable instrument to play. The 57 neck and Burstbucker Pro bridge pickups are the perfect combo. I don't miss the binding at all, it's perfect the way it is and the best value for the specs.
Sweetwater was the only retailer I would use for this purchase because I could hand pick the weight and top wood grain. I was also relying on their 55 pt inspection to catch any issues before I received it. It came in perfect condition and setup. I'm a happy customer.
