    A sleeper hit!

I recently purchased this drum to add to my collection. First, pics do not do it justice. It's a beauty! All quality you expect from tama at an entry-level price. Then I played it...And wow! This drum is a beast! This is now one of my favorites to play. This is my first 13". wide range of tuning, sweet click, powerful rimshot.I'm a tama fan and,as always, tama never disappoints.

I played this snare for a few months already and I love it! It cut through the music and it is loud. Great for all genres

    Finally my perfect snare.

This thing is a monster. I play in a ska-punk/ reggae band and this snare is just perfect for my sound. Even the stock head on this thing is a Evans G1, it's amazing.

    Snare you need to get!

I have been playing drums for over 40 years and played all brands of drums, just when you think you have heard the best , here comes a long a metal snare that will just blow you away! I bought this snare to go with my new Tama B&B star classic kit.. Which by the way is also incredible and for only $250 plus a free snare bag you will get one of the beat sounding and responsive snares I have ever played..well made and tunes easily! Do yourself a favor and check this baby out!

    I'm really digging' this snare

This is my first 13" snare and I was looking for a drum that I could tune higher without it choking out. The drum comes with an Evans G1 batter head and it has a great ring for certain R&B and Reggae styles. I was looking for a very tight dry sound though, so I switch the batter to an Evans Genara Dry and it made this drum nearly perfect for me. I'm able to tune it high and get a nice full "pop" with plenty of low end, and still keep the overtones under control, which suits the pop rock style I'm playing. The components and build quality seem to be very good. I think depending on the batter head, this drum would be great for anyone playing Gospel, R&B, Reggae, or pop rock. I'm very happy with my Tama SLP Sonic Steel!
