A Les Paul created for playing
Guitar snobs who value a guitars greatness by its price tag, or players who play only with their eyeballs need not read any further. Guitar players who use their fingers and ears to play should RUN, and not walk, to try this guitar.
First, it is not a gloss lacquered finish (thankfully). It does not have a binding, or mother of pearl inlays in the headstock. Do these help anyone PLAY? Nope! The satin looks cool. The visible pancake of mahogany/maple is cool. The wood resonates MORE without the lacquer and binding!
Second, beautifully grained rosewood fretboard on a mahogany neck (without lacquer) feels great and fast like a pool cue. '60s neck (with volute) is comfortable, and large radius 'board adorned with Gibson Medium-Jumbo frets allow for crazy string bending, but resist going sharp with strong fingering! Frets are plek'd.
Third, the Dirty Fingers take your ears to the greatest era of rock n'roll guitar TONE- 70's/80's. Think of John Sykes and Doug Aldrich's "mellow growl with appropriate bite." All six strings bring forth the 9 pounds of wood and delivers the unforgettable SUSTAIN.....
Lastly, I have a LOT of "highest" priced guitars hanging on the walls. This Paul stays in the stand on the floor because it is THE PLAYER! This was my first online order of a guitar for ME. Forrest Powell (awesome sales & support x 5 years) assured, and delivered, the quality without risk of "the mob" found in Guitar Center instruments.
I serve as a guitar tech to my fellow bandmates, and their friends, and their friends. This Paul arrived needing NOTHING tweaked! Perfect intonation. Perfect action. Even the poles/pickups were to specs!!
As always, THANK YOU Forrest Powell. My band mates thank you as well! (My wife hates you..... Until she hears your influences coming from the stage!)
