Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus Solidbody Electric Guitar with Plus Top at a Glance:

  • Classic tone, time-tested tonewoods
  • Plek system setup
  • Powerful, punchy pickups

Classic tone, time-tested tonewoods
Taking design and visual cues from the Les Pauls of the '80s, the Les Paul Traditional starts with an un-chambered mahogany body with traditional weight-relief holes for a beefy tone that maintains the resonance of modern Les Pauls. The body is capped with a carved maple top and the hand fitted neck tenon sports the rounded, C-shape profile common on the Les Pauls of the '80s and '90s.

Plek system setup
The Les Paul Traditional is Gibson USA's first model to utilize the revolutionary Plek system - a computer-controlled set-up that carefully measures and dresses each fret, accurately measuring the height between the fingerboard and each string, virtually eliminating string buzz and providing unbeatable playability. And of course your guitar will go through Sweetwater's setup process as well, ensuring a flawless playing instrument the moment you get it in your hands.

Powerful, punchy pickups
Two of Gibson's best-loved humbuckers - a '57 Classic in the neck position, and a '57 Classic Plus in the bridge - give the Traditional the power, punch, and clarity of Gibson's legendary PAF pickups. Other traditional appointments include vintage-style Gibson speed knobs, classic Kluson-style tuners by TonePros, which offer period-correct looks with a higher tuning ratio, and a chrome Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar.

2016 gibson les paul traditional t desert burst

what a great guitar and easy to play great tone and very comfortable neck this is my 6th guitar from sweetwater not counting the amps & accessories that I have purchasednot once have I been disappointed you will never go wrong dealing with sweetwater and it's employees they are all top notch in the field and for my personal rep which is matt mckibble I cannot praise him enough matt again thank you and congratulations

Love, love, love this guitar. I like my Les Pauls with no frills... no push/pull pots, coil tapping, dip switches, automatic tuning systems, etc. I tend to swap pickups, wiring setups, even guitars frequently, and to be honest, that was my plan with this... originally. After months of playing, swapping out pedals, and other things I typically do, I've arrived at the conclusion this guitar is perfect as is. I've own several high-end Les Pauls, and typically prefer a 60s' neck, but I've grown to love this in every way. The pickups are great, and I've tried dozens over the years. The neck profile is great for rhythm and lead, not chunky, but not thin either. The only issue, and it's very minor, is that I'll have the fret ends dressed. They are not sharp, per se, but not like my other guitars; Sweetwater offers this professionally done for $120, and probably worth it, at least to me. Highly recommend, if you like your guitars pure.

Extremely Happy with this LP Traditional Plus

This was my first purchase from Sweetwater. I have done business with another company for 10 plus years. It takes something special to switch from the place your use to and they did it with class. The LP was setup perfect out of the case. This is my 5th Gibson Les Paul along with 7 other brands and man this thing plays nice. I have always liked the Bbuckers and the 57 classics. The 57 classic plus in the bridge really sings with this LP Traditional. The 60 slim is nice but the 50 C is just a natural fit. I looked at the coil splitting models, didn't want it, have a model with the gforce tuners and didn't want those again, so everything I needed was on this guitar. Amarylis was great to work with and really made me feel comfortable in this purchase. Looking forward to doing more business with Sweetwater. They really do want you to be happy with what your getting. Thanks for the Experience.

Excellent guitar

I researched my guitar thoroughly before buying. I was unsure about buying such an expensive guitar online, but after having limited success in finding a dealer that stocked Les Pauls to try out I turned to the internet. I was able to look at the exact guitar I was going to buy and even compare it side by side with pictures to other models, this made it an awesome experience. I had Nick Huskins help me out and he was great as well, such a good experience. The guitar came beautifully set-up and sounds sooo sweet. I would highly recommend one! Nothing like a traditional Les Paul, the way it was made to be....
