Can't get any better than this for the money!

I went into the Sweetwater store in Fort Wayne Indiana looking to buy a Les Paul "style" guitar. I had a few Les Pauls over the last few years and they just didn't sound or feel like the old 60/70s LP that I had when I was younger. Everyone has their preference but I think any LP that's chambered is not a real LP. The original design was what makes it the classic that it is. Anyway, I was looking at a few PRS single cuts and they were nice but really wasn't what I was looking for. Then the sales tech had me try the 2014 Traditional LP. It was perfect! I've had it for a month now and I just can't put it down. The 59 Tribute Humbuckers sound fantastic (I usually replace Gibson pickups for Duncans). Yeah, it's heavy but plays and feels like a REAL LP.

I´m sorry for the other nowadays Les Pauls

I own 3 Les Pauls, including a Traditional 2014 and I have played many others throughout my life. None of mine is chambered nor has any weight relief in them. They´ve always sounded amazing to me, I must say, and none sound the same either. But theres something very special going on with this 2014 one. Its the best sounding and most comfortable guitar Ive ever played. It just feels right to the fingers and sounds ridiculously awesome to the first hearing. I simply cant make justice describing it properly. Its a very peculiar subtle crunchy yet smooth beautiful sound on both pickups and infinit sustain. This guitar sounds loud even when unplugged. Ive never touched my other guitars since I plugged them all in my 2203 to compare their sound. This very guitar is an iconic masterpiece. Unbeatable, if you will. Sorry for the long comment ... Couldnt get a hold, I guess Lol

    Iconic Les Paul Sound

Yet another great purchase from Sweetwater and my sales associate Mark Chapman. I've purchase commercial equipment and personal gear from Sweetwater and am consistently impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the staff. The most relevant factor for me has been the quality of the guitars I've purchased.

They really take the time to sort out the factory rejects. This is considerably different from Guitar Center and Musician's Friend. Both the Custom and Traditional I've ordered have come to me flawless. I have a tech that does set ups for me and I haven't even called him to set up the Traditional yet. I will, but that speaks to the skill of the techs at Sweetwater.

Now for the guitar. Holy S#*@! This thing sounds awesome. I've got a Marshall JCM 2000 and cabinet with V 30's - wow! This is the awesome '70's and 80's tone I love so much. Thick, growling chords that scream Rock & Roll. When I plug into my Deville with a tube screamer it sounds better than any of my Strats. Holy Crap.

I love the simplicity of just an awesome Les Paul. The Honey Burst finish is perfect for me. I like the semi-smoky warm tone of it (both visually and sonically). It reminds me of those sun bursts I used to look at on my Led Zeppelin posters. So enough of the '70's reminiscence. I'm dating myself. Awesome guitar, awesome buying experience. I'll be back for more.

All it's cracked up to be

Well... It's a Les Paul. Theres not a whole lot else that needs to be said, but for those who are still wondering... this guitar was WELL worth every penny that I spent on it. Plays great, feels great... I can guarantee it will be with me and bringing me plenty of enjoyment and happiness for the rest of my life!

Gibson Les Paul Traditional, Honey Burst

This guitar is so loud acoustically that my wife complains when I play it unplugged when the kids are asleep in fear that they will wake up. It's the non-weight relieved body and fat neck. There should be no other recipe for a Burst. Playing live this axe is almost erotic. Sustain and clarity especially when you lower the pickups down to somewhat low output. That is what this thing is meant for. When people complain about muddiness w/these it's cause the pups are too high. I could go on... Killer!

    Outstanding Les Paul

This is the Les Paul I've been looking for. The sustain on this guitar is better than any LP I've ever played, and I've been through a few over the years. I've used coil tapping before and was always a little disappointed. So why not just simplify matters and get a straight humbucker guitar without unnecessary frills? This is it. I've heard people talk about non-weight relieved guitars and what a great sound they had. This must be the sound they were talking about. The chords are just so full, no need for reverb with this one. I am very pleased with this purchase.
