First I would like to thank Jeremy for helping me make this purchase. Jeremy made the entire process stress free. Mine is Heritage Cherry Sunburst. I have been playing guitar for 35+ years and own ~ 18 guitars which I accumulated along my musical journey. I felt compelled to write this review because the 2013 Gibson Les Paul Standard is a solid example of a company "getting it right". My guitar has locking Grover Tuners, a really consistent rosewood fretboard, beautiful finish, and GREAT pickup's. I love Alnico pickup's but I have an SG with Burstbucker #1 & #2 which have Alnoco II magnets. I love the build of the guitar but disliked the sound of the pickup's and couldn't see the need for all the push/pull options. Well, I switched up my SG to my liking and I am so happy that my Les Paul has "Pro Buckers" which have Alnico V magnets. I actually appreciate all the push/pull features my Les Paul has. I feel this is the BEST Les Paul I have been able to find in modern times. Gibson really got it right with all the above mentioned appointments. I will own this guitar for life. The look, sound, feel, and build quality are awesome. It's a shame that Gibson changed the Les Paul Standard once again for 2014. I really wish Gibson would keep some of their models the same. To me, there are just too many choices and constant changes in pickup's and features that as a customer it just causes confusion and disappointment. So, thanks again Jeremy. I'm very happy with my 2013 Gibson Les Paul Standard in Heritage Cherry Sunburst and I feel extremely fortunate that I received the Les Paul with the features that suite my playing style.
