    Killer Plug

This plug is killer. On properly mixed material it can raise the overall level to commercial states. It can be overdone but it is hard to do with proper source material. Literature states it can bring a -6 reduction without noticeable pumping. I never had reduction numbers like that but I did pull about minus 2-3 with a substantial boost in the overall volume without hearing any clamping down. The source material is the key to using the plug, if your material is compressed and processed heavily already you will not get a transparent limiting and boost. But on the other hand if it is a raw mix and not overly compressed it will set the mix up front loud and proud. I held out for the longest time on Waves plugs because they used to require the ilok authorization, but with version 9 on most plugs it is no longer needed (big plus Waves). If you need a plug in to get your mix up to commercial levels, this is it.

    Still pumping us up

Pretty much everything that can be said about this plugin has been said. It still does amazing things to mixes, and at this price it's just a must have. Low CPU means I can shove it on some tracks instead of tweaking a compressor and get a lot of volume with minimal effort.

    Crunchy

This is one of the oldest plugins Waves has, but its still great. Certainly there are better sounding limiters available - either more "pure" when pushed, or that add more "color", but you can still use this in pretty much any situation you want.

I prefer to use this in places where I am deliberately pushing the plugin hard, driving it to the point that it starts to get a little "crunch" to the sound. When "abusing" the plugin this way, it can be great for taking a sterile snare and bringing out the crack and buzz and adding some grit, or do similar things for vocals, guitars... whatever.

Simple. Easy. Does what you need. Not my first choice for a full mix, but great on individual instruments and submixes, especially when you want to drive it hard to add some creative crunch..

It's great for distortion guitars ,I love how it adds a pleasing digital distortion to the guitar amp distortion when pushed hard that no other limiter does
